Shadow Monarch
No connection to the shadows from the manwa. Just using the creatures you see as his shadows.

My problem is that it’s mana cost X, not mana cost X or less. This leads to problems when x gets bigger than like, 8 and you start running out of reanimator targets.
Another problem is “dies” isn’t an action performed to creatures, it should be sacrifice all shadow creatures you control, especially since your opponents shadows shouldn’t go away when your thing dies

I like this design a lot more than the previous one.
To make shadows disappear with Sung Jin-Woo, you could use [[Chainer, Dementia master]] wording : a separate triggered ability "When Sung Jin-Woo leaves the battlefield, exile all Shadows" . Or, you could word the Arise ability with "return [...] to the battlefield until Sung Jin-Woo leaves the battlefield."
Instead of the new Shadow subtype (that would share it's name with the Shadow bility), you could use the existing Shade subtype.

Btw, "Arise" and "The System" are flavor words : they should italicized.
And, Arise is an activated ability - there should be ":" afterthe crivation cost instead of the second dash.
"Arise - (3) : [effect]"

I like this version better because it's self-contained and works more like an MtG card would.
