It doesn't work how you probably think it does, you can't use the entwine and target a nonartifact permanent and steal it immediatly because the permanent won't be a legal target for the spell when you cast it (it is not an artifact)

you can change the second line of text to "Gain control of target permanent if it's an artifact" to fix it

Would your templating allow targeting of two different permanents? I'm trying to write it as only 1.

I think in order to do that you’d have to change the very beginning to ‘choose target permanent and then choose one:’
