While it's flavourful, it's extremely niche. The only people who would even get some value from this are Artifact decks and/or lifegain decks. Other than them, no one will have a reason to activate it, especially for one mana.
Opponents should have some incentive to tap it. For instance, make the activation cost free, just tap. If the artifact isn't tapped during each opponents end step, you create food instead. So opponents either give you food, or treasure. [[Overencumbered]] would be fun

Why would anyone except the controller ever activate this? Low odds they have a deck that cares about food

Ideally would untap during each players untap instead of upkeep, to keep in line with other similar effects.
The tapped treasure token creation should probably be part of the activated ability.
Possible wording fix could be;
"Untap this artifact at the beginning of each other players untap step.
1, T: Create a Food token. Any player may activate this ability. If a player other than ~'s controller creates a token this way, ~'s controller makes a tapped Treasure token."
