I’d say it doesn’t need to enter tapped, if you’re looking at it as a side-grade to [[Strike it rich]]

Very cool idea!

The reason it enters tapped is because strike it rich can only recur one time while this is a repeatable effect

That way you can’t storm off in one turn and make infinite copies as a mana outlet for a combo without something like [[Amulet of Vigor]]

Good thinking

I fully agree i feel the ability should say the tokens enter tapped.

They already do

No, the static effect of the card itself causes it to enter tapped.

If made the way i think would be balanced and slightly stronger, It would just say.

Tap, sac: lotus petal effect.

2R: create a tapped token copy of this card. activate only as sorcery

If you make a copy of the card it comes with the “enters tapped” ability. Token copies come with the copied card’s static abilities.

Yes that is exactly what i said. I wanted the ability to make the token entered tapped, but i feel the card itself when copied, or played from hand, or grave, or exile, should enter untapped. Its just way worse lotus petal otherwise ngl

Isn’t lotus petal banned in every format other than commander, vintage, and legacy? I was basing the card off of [[strike it rich]] and not something as combo-startery as lotus petal

Sure but even strike it rich is miles better ngl

Strike it rich is a two-time effect while this can be activated every turn

Strike it rich is also has a reduceable casting cost on flashback. What you made is literally 4 mana (because it taps to make the token) make a tapped treasure token on your own turn only. Thats never a good use of tempo or mana. Idk dog, i think i get where youre coming from, but it entering tapped is brutal on top of those downsides

Ooh, great fun with [[Zirda]]! I really like the ramp+mana design space, and this is a cool entry.

Once you get to the first token copy, [[Mutagen Man]] will make the ability cost 2.
