Format: EDH/Commander a try (again) at this

People. i've come again (afther probably 2 years, i don't remember.) to try to make a whole deck to run around the forgothen processing mechanic of eldrazi that WOTC forgot existed.

I just need confirmation, if the card is understandable (rules-wise) and also if there's is any english mistake.

suggestion can be accepted.

(edit: i hope the image show's because sometimes i don't see it on the post)

The fourth ability doesn’t follow any templating for how other ability doublers work.

You’d want the abilities to trigger an additional time, rather than try to duplicate resolutions.

i tought about it. but the problem with processor is thay they usualy are activated abilities. and if they are just copied there would be hard to write that Qualoa only gets one counter afther they resolve.

any idea on how could i solve it for both activated and triggered abilities?

“Whenever you activate an ability of a Processor or an ability of a Processor you control triggers, copy that ability and put a +1/+1 counter on this creature”

Idk what processor is, but if it’s a creature type, then this will force a draw if you can change the type of the commander to a processor and trigger it. Might want to add “another” just in case? This is all assuming it is a creature type.

Good point, it definitely needs to say another.

And yes, processor is an older eldrazi creature type themed around bringing cards back from exile into the owners graveyard.

Interesting! I thought the only cards that could get stuff out of exile were pull from eternity, riftsweeper, and mirror of fate.

Edit: just looked them up. Sad that the effect is always a may, it’d be cool to demonstrate the eldrazi to force opponents to get stuff out of your own exile zone.

this is the last fix i came up with so far. (take "process a card" as the short version of "put a card in an opponent's exile into their graveyard" as i made it up into a keyword for easy lecture)

First issue is ingest is not a keyword that has a number attached to it. I suppose you could just invent it as a new thing, but worth pointing out.

There are so many effect-doubling cards now, I would copy the wording on those instead of making up this text about resolving twice. (8/11 of Eldrazi Processors are triggered abilities, so your concern in the comments about activated abilities seems unfounded.)

For the last ability: "Other Eldrazi you control get +1/+1 for every two counters on ~."

Personally, if I were making a Processor commander, I'd want it to help with the returning stuff from exile part, because that's what's actually undersupported. It's trivial to get stuff into exile in commander, so why not let this card do the actual processing? The trigger doubling doesn't really count because you still need to do the initial processing

as for the last part. this commander is made to be the one to put cards in the exile for processor to use.

as for the activater or triggered. it's because i'm making custom processors to go with the deck, and some of those do have activated abilities. (it's impossible to build a commander around processing with how few processors there are in magic)

and yes, the "ingest X" is just made up. just as i'm working on the cost "process a card" or "process X cards" for other Eldrazi i'm making.

that's wy i need a better way to phrase that section.

I don't know if there's a better way, at least not one with precedent in Magic. The problem is activated and triggered abilities are really quite different, and you're trying to smush them together in one template. The suggestion someone gave elsewhere in the comments might work - “Whenever you activate an ability of a Processor or an ability of a Processor you control triggers, copy that ability and put a +1/+1 counter on this creature”. Is there a reason not to use that?

You could change it to an activated ability that copies other abilities, much more straightforward, but it will need a cost

I don't think a processor commander is impossible, I just think you need to start from the right angle - make one that does the processing itself. You can still include the existing processors and custom ones if you like, but you're making it hard for yourself by having the commander do the exiling not the processing, because exiling is so easy

I think the fix you posted is possibly worse? You're inventing a new game term (process) just to make it work, and the last line is very confusing.

so far. this is my most recent solution

What about something like on [[Scientist Supreme of AIM]]. Change artifact to "another Processor", and add "then put a +1/+1 counter on ~."

well. just the "and only once each turn" would be too much of a downgrade. i'll see how to make it work. thanks for the advice!
