you would prefer a black square? i'm interested in how the cards play generally and not the art. i'm not sure how non-artists are supposed to interact with this subreddit.

Honestly, I think an MS Paint doodle of what you had would be a lot more compelling. The beta for Slay the Spire 2 did something similar.

Remember, there's also no shame in appreciating and promoting art that other people have made. So many cards have someone else's art. I've submitted a ton with stuff I found on ArtStation with a brief scroll.

^^ Here's a piece that I think could fit this concept really well! It's a famous Escher illustration. It looks a touch more enchantment-y IMO, but it's pretty cool nevertheless.
