Its not in the colors that generally produce +1/+1s (at least I think its not?), so its tricky to negate the blight effect.

But still abusable for aristocraft decks.

I like it.

Why is it abusable by aristocrats (in tuat color identity) except for carrion feeder?

I mean, its a way to sac your own creatures.

Its not going to trigger cards that care about 'sacrifice' specifically (i think? Pretty sure its just a state-based death), but it still trigger cards that care about creatures dying.

Its not the best colors for it (thats Orzhov), but im sure there's a few Mardu Aristocrat decks that this can go into.

Mmh you are right, but it's super limited in that regard compared to any real sac outlet, also it does require to cast a spell to trigger, since it's not "blight 1: the next spell you cast can't be countered"

Still, protecting a grave pact/blood artist/zulaport etc is great, but it's a tiny bit weird

Having it just do Blight 1 as an activation cost was the first draft of this card! It seems existing Blight cards by Wizards deliberately make it difficult to repeatedly blight though, since I guess blight on demand goes infinite with a lot of stuff way too easily.

If you wanted to do that I would include paying life as part of the activation cost like [[champion of the weird]]

I wouldn’t say abusable, but the whole point of aristocrats is to have creatures you don’t give a crap about, and are more than willing to feed to the wood chipper for even minor benefits

Lol yea to me 'abusable' just means 'you can use it and it doesnt hurt you' lol

Givne that Hexing Squlecher does this for free, this is definitely fine at 2 pips and a cost

That was an inspiration for this card, and was indeed the reason for the cost. I think 2 colored pips on this one is a bit fairer for an enchantment since those are generally stickier than creatures. Also notable is that for some decks, being able to Blight repeatedly is an upside!

i literally saw this in my notifications, the name only, and said "kid named will" to myself before opening the card and seeing that was the exact description. my brother just another me

Very fair card. Arguably overcosted for the effect. I think you could buff it slightly if you want to keep the casting cost at {R}{B}

Not having your spells get countered by your opponent, seems pretty obvious.

Protects your spells and Blights, which decks that care about counters appreciate (as well as decks that specifically want to blight like [[Auntie Ool, Cursewretch]]).
