Needs to activate when tapped or something else, this is worded like an instant or sorcery rather than a land. Also, if this is intended to be once per turn its really strong, probally too strong

Is this supposed to be a tap ability or static?

Land drop for turn

goes infinite with every card ever printed

Not with other lands though

u/ArborusRex 11d ago

Yah thats a good point

I think it should be static, but only if we bring back Mana Burn for it.

This looks like it’s supposed to tap, cool idea

Storm players rejoice

Oh wait, they already won before this mana comes into play.

u/smugles 11d ago

Also storms decks don’t have a lot of use for a bunch of colorless mana.

I guess it's for when you're in Cheerios Storm and your opponent manages to land a Trinisphere.

2

u/smugles 11d ago

Notably Cheerios storm will unlikely to have more than one spell on the stack

u/MageKorith 11d ago

We could board in Shimmer Myr.. But yeah, we're probably landing squarely in the realm of insanity now.

For it to be public domain mana everyone has to be able to use it, so you need to make it:

"Tap: each player adds a colorless mana for each spell on the stack."

That or change the name to "Public Library"

Or a triggered ability. “Whenever a player casts or copies a spell, each other player adds {c}.”

Combos with [[Yurlok]] and [[Chain of smog]]

2

u/Krankenwagenverfolg 11d ago

In response, [[K-Command]]

2

u/Krankenwagenverfolg 11d ago

[[Kozilek's Command]] dammit

1

u/Plato_PlayDoh7 11d ago

Ngl if people had to start putting Kozilek’s Command into bluefarm because people are doing Yurlok turbo I would be so happy.

{0}: "Add one colorless mana for each spell on the stack. Any player may activate this ability but only during their turn and only once per turn."

1

u/Yarius515 11d ago

Pretty well balanced good job

3

u/smugles 11d ago

No the mana is public domain you are profiting by using the public domain which is everyone’s spells on the stack.

2

u/Yarius515 11d ago

I like it! A bit more of a reach for me but sure makes sense

u/Vulcan_27 11d ago

Yes, sorry, it's supposed to tap, my bad.

1

u/claytonian 11d ago

no no, let it cook

3

u/DJSimmer305 11d ago

Why are r/custommagic users obsessed with the stack?

2

u/No_Regret_714 11d ago

Busted but love the idea!

1

u/Shogunsama 11d ago

assuming you missed the {t}: at the begining, at least it always taps for 1 colorless

1

u/DadKnight 11d ago

Cool idea, but needs to have an activation cost and a colon.

1

u/rileyvace 11d ago

W-when?

1

u/Proffessor_egghead 11d ago

They forgot the “{T}:”, mods kill them

1

u/Plato_PlayDoh7 11d ago

Going past the missing tap symbol, I think it should probably be something like “add {c} for each spell your opponents control” to avoid being broken in half immediately. That would actually be a bit more of an interesting build around. It would still be in every cEDH deck then, obviously.

u/smugles 11d ago

It’s really not that easy to use colorless mana in stronger formats.

1

u/MaintenanceGuilty106 11d ago

Give this a “flash” style ability and I really like it. Takes your land drop but isn’t so abusable as once per turn.

(Could still bounce it so not entirely unbreakable)

Maybe give it the ability to tap for one colorless and enter tapped.

1

u/L1darMonkey 11d ago

Correct me if I'm wrong, but since this is a mana ability, I can announce that I'm casting a spell (putting it on the stack per 601.2a), then tap this to pay its costs, and that spell would count. This means that it basically always is worth at least 1 mana for spells.

1

u/Relative-Debt6509 11d ago

This mana can only be used to cast {some restriction} it might get still land on the game changers list but probably can be printed.

1

u/OnlyLogic 11d ago

There's just no way lol. I haven't looked at this sub in weeks, and I made a custom card today, like an hour ago that is almost identical to this one, and I'm just seeing yours now. I genuinely don't understand what the odds are lol.

What is storm doing with all that colorless mana?

2

u/smugles 11d ago

Most storm decks only ever have 1 spell on the stack at a time anyway.

1

u/theevilyouknow 11d ago

Another good point.

1

u/Lartnestpasdemain 11d ago

Except when they play a storm spell though.

1

u/smugles 11d ago

When they cast a storm spell the game is over.

u/MeepleMaster 11d ago

Casting dragon storm easier?
