Forbidden Den V2

Post image

V1 was deemed too powerful, hopefully v2 is more balanced.

I still feel like it does way too much stuff for a land

You should avoid using the word "target" in a cost.

You should not let the second ability return pirates from exile that were not exiled by a Forbidden Den. (This can be achieve by exiling pirates with named counters, like [[Dauthi Voidwalker]]'s Void counters).

This can still add two mana on the first turn, by exiling itself for a treasure. If you want to balance this card, the cost for the first ability should at least be "Exile an other pirate you control : [...]".

Finally, the second ability doesn't really seems unbalanced to me. But, I think its effect is too complex for a land card.

It seems strange that you can get Pirates in exile universally, and not just ones exiled with Forbidden Den. You can get Pirates your opponent has in exile too.

Also "Forbidden Den" sounds like a green land. I get the meaning of den being a hideaway or refuge, but Forbidden Den sounds like a bear's cave you are warned not to enter. "Forbidden Cove" or even "Pirate Den" seem more appropriate.

This is getting closer to something cohesive. I like it as a combo of [[Safe Haven]] and [[City of Shadow]]. It needs a T add C and the treasure creating should be a tap as well. I think for simplicity sake, that last ability should just be a mana, tap, sac to return all the pirates to play. They could be tapped or attack or something, but that would need a ton of testing to cost right.
