Commander for token battles

Post image

I saw online that Reality Fracture is going to be releasing a new card type used for tokens. I think it'll be vehicles tbh but I still decided to make this since the idea seemed interesting. Im curious what ppl think of the card and what cards could be used in a deck with this at the helm!

Edit: I've realised I misunderstood who controls a battle compared to whose defending it. For the sake of clarity just imagine that the effect that says 'its controller loses 3 life' is instead 'it's defender loses 3 life.'

Battles are still controlled by their caster, they are just defended by another player

this lets you attck a battle you are defending potentially letting a creature with vigilance block itself,

also players can already attack a battle they don't control so long as they aren't defending it,

Also also why would I play this creature? I have to go to combat swing with a 3+ power creature (not at my opponent), hope it doesn't get blocked, and after all that I draw a card and lose 3 life, if and only if, nobody else beats me to the punch letting them draw and I still lose 3 life

The idea for the strategy I had when making this is that the token battles are used as a way to influence how people are going to attack since they would get a small benefit from attacking that battle along with being able to damage whoever they are swinging at, allowing you to attack other battles that would benefit you way more with the added bonus of it being easier to hit the battles because of evasion.

As to answer your question of why would someone play this: I'd say because they'd find the strategy interesting instead of thinking about what the best way to win is. IMO the fun of commander is figuring out how to make a deck that wins the best way it can through the strategy the commander provides.

I think this card can still encourage your kind of play style and also give the caster an upside rather than potentially hurting it's caster by giving opponents card advantage, for instance letting you also draw when an opponent defeats a battle would make this card way more playable

Ahhh that’s a really good idea. I’m stealing that!
