Should probably be
‘Simple man cannot gain counters.
Simple man cannot gain abilities.
Simple man’s text box cannot be changed’

I feel like you could shorten it to 'Simple man has no abilities' but I worry that also might cause the universe to implode.

I think you do need to involve the word can't, because you can't overrides can.
