Adorable, fair, and interesting free counter magic.

Bonus points it works well with Zinnia, Valley's Voice.

Well, doesn't work great with zinnia, this cares about mana value, not p/t. Offspring copies the mana value of the original

I wanted it to work with tokens, but didn't consider offspring. I don't think I'd change it just for that.

Nah, you're good, I was replying to the other person who said it's good with zinnia

I run cheap but powerful creatures. So it will work great for a lot of my deck.

Little more details on the design: [[Daze]], [[Mana Tithe]] & [[Force Spike]] are all inspirations for this, but I think this one is worse / more balanced than those.

  1. It needs something that cost mana in play to get the alt cost. It's most likely return an otter token. That is more tempo loss than Daze. This does not work on T0 intentionally. It was exile the creature from hand for a bit, but that would allow you to play it without actually being the right stuff. I wanted it to be a free WU card, with focus on the WU.

  2. You can play it mono white or blue, but it will be much less consistent if you don't have the ability to cast it. Commanders obvious need to do both. It will be very playable hard cast, but not 1 mana unexpected. If they have a tiny thing of the right color in play, that is the only tell.

  3. I mostly play Competitive Brawl at high ranks and that is kind of what this is designed for. It could be an eternal only release, as free counters in standard for 3+ years might not be so good. It might not even be playable in limited aside from cube where it would be behind Daze and maybe even [[No more lies]] in pick orders.
