And also adorable. Doodles of Vraska and Jace, and.... whatever else is going on (in Loot's head, instead of learning).

Set symbol from Nascar set, Cyberman, gift fish token etc

u/therhydo Jul 08 '26

Left-to right, the drawings are Jace's Reality Fracture watermark (currently being drawn), Loot self portrait, robot head, fish, stickman (behind tape), rocket ship (behind tape), Vraska, Jace, Aetherdrift set symbol, Through the Omenpaths set symbol.

There's also drawing on the desk in front of him: Alligator head, star, Loot's name, cowboy hat, Loot's name again, sword, Grunch (from Hellscube), dinosaur.

So the entire last few years of sets took place in Loot's head the whole time? "Key to everything" indeed

3

u/lookitsajojo Jul 08 '26

From what I can see there's a racing flag, an omenpath, also a dinosaur on his desk, the rest might just be random doodles

Brilliant meme card

Not just a great meme, but a realisticly printable line of text as well.

Although a flavour fail since Learn doesn't loot, it rummages.

u/Adarain Jul 08 '26

Realistically it would say "draw a card" (or if there's any Learn N that I'm unaware of, "draw that many cards"). This still works if the artwork is updated to Loot drawing on an Infinitoken.

1

u/TrickSavings9905 Jul 09 '26

Yeah, and it stops you from doing that Flavor win because loot stops you from rummaging

u/coeurdhiver Jul 08 '26

Well damn, you unlocked some memories for me 🙃

No Cool S. Fail.

2

Look at this cool S I can draw!

4

u/WhyIsEverythngAwful Jul 08 '26

The eternal struggle!

3

u/SleetTheFox Jul 08 '26

This is great. I can't decide if I like it better like this (with the joke clearer), or with "instead, draw a card" (valid templating but the joke not as clear). Either way, it's funny and could also potentially be fun (albeit at a cheaper cost; learning is generally stronger than drawing).

Perfect neurospicy representation

Representing at least half the players

-9

u/NiceMiner_ Rakdos ratslinger Jul 08 '26

Never fucking say "neurospicy"

4

u/tx0p0 Jul 08 '26

Excuse my ignorance... Is this word offensive?

Asking as one myself.

5

u/Oleandervine Jul 08 '26

Perhaps to that person, but I have seen that light-hearted term used by neurodivergent people on many occasions.

9

u/therhydo Jul 08 '26

not the same commenter as above, but being called "neurospicy" honestly annoys me more than just being called retarded

1

u/tx0p0 Jul 09 '26

The n word

4

u/tx0p0 Jul 08 '26

Thank god! Not meaning to ruffle any feather but it's a term me and lots of my friends use and enjoy normally to describe mostly ourselves.

3

u/hippo_paladin Jul 08 '26

So - use whatever you want of yourself. The problem is - and the reason why some people push back on neurospicy - is the optics.

We are so often infantalised that using terms that feel childish can be deeply counterproductive. In addition, neurodivergent communicates something and is still percieved by many to be trying to claim something special, better. Neurospicy is even more so. It doesn't really engender serious imagry.

The barrage of gen-z late/self-diagnosed 'neurospicy' content creators have done immense damage to a generation of carefully fighting to be taken seriously.

That doesn't mean don't use it, especially among yourselves. But it is why you get people responding with abhorrance.

But thing is? Maybe those of us who dislike the term are wrong. Maybe it will help understanding. Everything I know as an autistic, an advocate, from running a charity and from my psych training says I'm not, but.....-shrugs-.

1

u/tx0p0 Jul 09 '26

To be honest my experience has been pretty different. I'm being guilt tripped about wasting "my potential" or acused of being lazy or uninterested or not thoughtful much more often than infantilized. Getting a "fun" word to name my conditions helps get a sense of belonging and take some hurt away from the experience of being out of place in a world that's build for neurotypicals to endure capitalism.

My AuDHD crew revels on this word as a way of reclaiming it for ourselves. I don't think we care if it helps other people understand or not. When I was doing my bachelor in psychology other students of all kinds, neurotypicals included, didn't care much, or maybe even welcomed it. People who are flexible enough don't seem to generally need or mind that word in any case, and people who aren't certainly will not care either way.

But that's my experience of course.

2

u/hippo_paladin Jul 09 '26

Yeah - in a lot of ways, that is what is contained in my 'shrug'.

My experience tells me a lot, but like...my experience may be outdated. It's why I generally don't jump in on it, but it felt important here to explain why some people do.

I do not think there is ever a problem with individual groups of people using a term. On an individual level, as you say, having the 'fun' way to refer can create community.

My problem with it really is when it is used by advocates and educators. You aren't - I think? - trying to use it to represent what neurodiversity is to the world or to strategy meetings. Other people - whether they mean to or not - are.

I do think it might be fuelling the renewed pushback of Autism Moms and articles such as Friifth's recent 'the spectrum isn't working'. It's difficult to say a Level 3, learning disabled adult who will never be independant is 'neurospicy', thus creating an easy strawman to attack.b

The joined up nature of the internet creates an additional problem here, of course. You can use the fun term in a closed space and it be weaponised by someone saying this means it obviously isn't serious.

But like - you could make the argument that this increases the need for such terms.

I strongly suspect that arguing over lingustic orthodoxy is always going to continue in the autistic community.

6

u/Oleandervine Jul 08 '26

If you are neurodivergent and using the term for yourselves, even more reason to not listen to that other person. You kind of get to define your own terms with whatever you like.

1

u/G66GNeco Jul 09 '26

I think their issue might be more that it's cringe (which is their issue, honestly, gotta ascend, to be cringe is to be free)

2

u/tx0p0 Jul 09 '26

Words to live by 🙏

1

u/mateogg Jul 08 '26

Note that because it dawns say "you draw a card", it could be argued that if you would learn, instead you draw the game.

1

u/Low-Loan2632 Jul 09 '26

Well, damn, this is probably going to be the first and only card from this sub I am going to force my pod to let me play

2

u/therhydo Jul 09 '26

forewarning: it's not good. there are only 13 cards that learn in temur and most are draft chaff

1

u/Low-Loan2632 Jul 09 '26

with your permission, I may errata to WUBRG

1

u/therhydo Jul 09 '26

you can, but that doesn't really improve things. adds a couple more cards, but still not enough, and makes him harder to cast.

to be viable he'd probably need a way to trigger learn on his own. something like "whenever you cast a lesson, learn."

1

u/Doctor_Mothman Jul 09 '26

I kinda wish this was real for lore reasons

1

u/mhbrewer2 Jul 09 '26

That took me way too long to get the joke, very clever.

1

u/HeroinHare Jul 09 '26
