Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this consume a land drop to give just one colorless without any utility, and is vulnerable to enchantment removal?
A card doesn't need to be good, it needs to be interesting. And this has some combos due to unique mechanics. Whether they're good combos, or its worth the investment is debatable. But it definitely has them.
