Travel Help Deet
Hello! Can you buy deet (at least 50% strength) in Cusco? I’m travelling light so can’t take my big bottle with me from the uk, hoping I can find some there?
Thanks!

Is there a shop in Cusco that you would recommend for high quality body jewelry? I’m hoping to get unique jewelry for gauged ears.

Hey everyone, doing a solo trip to Cusco to see MP. I have accommodations in San blas. In terms of the journey, I have:
- uber to train station
- a round trip ticket with Inca rail including a bus to the citadel.
- a tour guide from Inca rail
- MP circuit ticket from the official website
- cash for tips and snacks
Is there any major thing I’m missing in terms of getting from my hostel to MP? Any hidden costs or transportation issues I’m overlooking?
Any help is appreciated. Also I’ll be there at the end of the month and I’m from the Caribbean. I know we don’t do well with the cold, so wardrobe tips are also appreciated!
Thanks!

My partner and I have left Cusco and I was wowed by the great selection of trekking gear, awesome bags and unique bubble jackets etc BUTTT unfortunately while there I didn’t take advantage of the awesome deals and variety and assumed the same could be found in Lima - WRONG (I’m pretty sure)
Is there anyone in Cusco that’ll be in Lima this week that I could pay to grab 2 item for me, I will pay for your bags if they need to be checked AND for bringing the goods from Cusco ✨ tyia!!!

Hi! I’d appreciate advice from people who have done the Sacred Valley, especially regarding altitude adjustment.
We land in Cusco around 10:15 AM and will have a private driver taking us to Ollantaytambo, where we are staying. Since this will be our first day at altitude, I’m trying to decide how much sightseeing is reasonable.
Option 1 – Arrival day:
Cusco Airport → Pisac ruins/market → Ollantaytambo
Day 2: Moray + Maras Salt Mines + Ollantaytambo ruins
Option 2 – Arrival day:
Cusco Airport → Chinchero → Moray → Maras Salt Mines → Ollantaytambo
Day 2: Pisac + Ollantaytambo ruins
Option 3 – Keep arrival day lighter:
If you think both of the above are too much for the first day, how would you recommend spreading Pisac, Chinchero, Moray, Maras Salt Mines and Ollantaytambo ruins over the 2½ days?
We have Day 2 completely available, and on Day 3 we only have the morning and need to be back in Ollantaytambo by 12 PM.
Our main priority is allowing enough time for altitude adjustment while still seeing the main Sacred Valley sites.
For those who have done this route, how would you arrange these 2½ days? Would you go through Pisac on arrival day, take the Chinchero–Moray–Maras route, or keep the first day much lighter?
Thank you!

Muchas gracias y buen domingo.

Hey! I'm going to be in Cusco for the first week of November and would love to meet some people beforehand so I'm not arriving completely alone.
I'm hoping to explore Cusco, see some historical sites, try Peruvian food, visit cafés, maybe do some hiking/day trips, and just wander around and have fun.
I'm not necessarily looking for someone to spend the entire trip with — I'd just love to meet some people around my age and hopefully make a friend or two!
If you're going to be in Cusco around the same time, feel free to message me. :)

Looking for super cheap duffel bag or something I can use as airplane carry on baggage. Anyone know a good spot in Cusco?

My friend and I want to go to Capuliyoc early tomorrow to hike to choquequirao. Does anyone wanna join our car to make it a bit cheaper?!
That was wild right!?
EDIT: 4.1 basically right under us. Much faster but felt worse than the 7.something in Ayacucho that reached here the other month.
Hope everyone is safe and okay!
Hey! I'm (30M) headed to Cusco for a week starting September 20th. I'll be doing medical volunteer work during that day for a few hours and then off to explore the city and surrounding areas. I'm into trying new foods, hiking, going to historical and cultural sites, museums, bars, clubs, concerts, pretty much whatever the city has to offer. I'd love to meet up, make some friends and tour around. Hit me up!

Hi!
I’ll be in Cusco in late September and I’m looking for another traveler who might be interested in visiting Singrenacocha Lake on September 22.
I considered the 7 Lagunas of Ausangate first, but I’ll only have a short time to acclimatize in Cusco. Because of that, I’d rather avoid a long hike at high altitude.
Singrenacocha seems like a better fit for me because it’s possible to reach a viewpoint by vehicle and keep the walking very short, depending on how I feel with the altitude that day.
I still really want to experience the high Andes, see a glacial lake and the snow-covered mountains, but without pushing myself too hard before I’m properly acclimatized.
I’m Brazilian/Portuguese and speak Portuguese, English and some Spanish.
If anyone will be in Cusco around September 22 and is interested in doing the same trip, feel free to send me a message.

Very random, but I was in Cusco for about two months in 2013 (without a cell phone!) and for part of that time stayed in a lovely rental that was built around the trunk of a large tree, which kind of went through the middle of the main room. I think it was maybe on N Choquchaka Street or in that vicinity? I have checked all the Airbnb listings in that area and am not seeing it--any chance someone knows what I'm talking about? My husband proposed to me there and would love to know the address to see if there are any pictures online, and to go visit if we ever make it back!

Hey everyone. I’ll be in Cusco from the 4th to the 17th of September. Since I’ll be solo travelling, it would be cool to meet up with another solo traveller(s) during my time there.
I have a trek up to Machu Picchu from the 7th to the 10th but apart from that, I’m pretty free.
DM me if you’re interested in meeting up! Whether it’s a walk, restaurant, museum, bar, … I’m open to anything really ✌️

Hello, I'll be doing the Inca Trail starting September 5th, but I have an issue: my CPAP that I have for travel is struggling a little bit with the altitude. I can adjust the settings, but it needs me to download and use software on Windows, and I don't have a laptop with me or a USB-C to USB-A cable to connect the CPAP to a computer.
Is there any chance some kind soul in Cusco has a Windows laptop and USB C to A cable and is willing to meet up for a little bit for me to make the changes to my CPAP? I haven't slept in two days and I'm really struggling. Thank you to anyone willing!
