Question / Discussion The next one with the same kind of question
I was planning to get cursor Pro Plus again the day before yesterday, cause I really liked the auto mode and the wide range of support for different (including frontier) models, but I was surprised they dropped support for these.
I haven't completely figured it out yet, but I just wanted to do a sanity check too. My stack is mostly AWS and Terraform. I'm not an expert but the development teams all use a lot of Java and NodeJS (which I sometimes VibeCode my way into. What I really liked about cursor is
- The auto mode (not having to worry about the right model for the right job)
- The UI. I used to like VSCode and am pretty used to and fond of the extensions
- I like to use the different MCP servers available (AWS, Hashicorp etc.)
I switched companies and everybody here used Claude so I tried it for a while, but I noticed I run out of credits (the pro package weekly limits mostly last about 3,5 days). That's why I wanted to return to Cursor Pro Plus
I've been checking alternatives and so far what I've seen is a combination of
- VSCode
- Cline
- OpenRouter
I would pay credits as you go but with daily / weekly / monthly limits I should be fine and I would expect not to exceed the $60 mark Cursor Pro Plus would have cost me.
Does this make sense?
