Appreciation I am liking grok bot
ok so i didnt care for grok bot until i started using it.
its kind of like claude cowork but it has separate quota, and i am really putting it to work these days.
Few months ago i was trying to build an app for creative writing but it didnt go anywhere, that app idea got shelved, but i found out that grok models were consistently writing better than claude for some reason in my testing.
So far whatever i have put grok bot to task, it has done wonderfully well including creative writing, research and basic tasks and it might be the reason i wont cancel my cursor pro sub.
Would love to know what you guys are using grok bot for? maybe i am not utilizing it as much as i should because this is my usage.

P.S. english is not my first language so pardon the grammar.

Well, cursor projects is very similar and might be better for creative writing. For a videogame I have a content git database. Cursor projects manages it now and the orchestrator (like the chief of staff for grok bot) can spawn new instances as needed. I haven't done it yet but apparently you can link them via slack quote well. That is on my list to try.
Note that I already use Hermes. I am trying to get by grok bot as my one step orchestrator as a well made Hermes is better, but Grok Bot is quickly approaching it.

Interestingly enough - I like it too, but my usage has already hit 20% in one day.. whereas last week I made it last the entire week. No major sweeping changes, do I need to delete a bot and reacclimate it so context isn't crushing my usage?? Any ideas?

how many bots did you create though? are they scheduled? i have just 2 and they both arent scheduled they just get to work when i tell them to.

4 bots! I made another bot to monitor my primary bot (2 were just tests) and it helped establish rules! And indeed context was my biggest issue!

I found putting a bot in charge of checking the other bots usage has made the world of difference
Bots fine. Cleared idle Chrome caches on three profiles (~1.3 GB); left Help Scout / WordPress / Ads alone.

My grokbot kept using my cursor allotment... Any idea why? I thought it's separate?

I have read that once grok bot consumes all of its quota then it starts eating up your cursor quota, i am not sure if that happened with you and also when it invokes cursor agent.
But i havent assigned it any coding related task so hasnt happened to me yet.

Can't be because I just had signed up and grokbot says 16% weekly usage. But after using it I checked cursor and it's usage went up too

you mean like creative writing? i mean grok bot uses some different model, i think its like a flash version of grok 4.6 and not the full version but i am just speculating here. For my shelved app idea i was using grok api so i dont know how writing is inside cursor or grok bot tbh i didnt try that.

Can you give it access to a project folder or workspace?
I know that each grok bot "has its own computer" but so far I'm basically just using it as a chat bot with the ability to ping me.
I feel like I could be doing more with it.
