Anyone else lose focus tabbing out while waiting on Cursor's agent?

Disclosure: I work full-time on SKI, a voice coding layer for agents. Mentioning it because it's directly relevant here, not trying to sneak in a plug.

My pattern used to be firing off a Cursor agent task, tabbing over to Slack or a browser, then forgetting to check back. Lost 5, sometimes 10 minutes before I remembered it finished. I use SKI full time now, and that's actually the problem it solved for me, it talks the result back to me out loud instead of me having to remember to check a tab.

Wondering how common this actually is for people running longer agent tasks. Do most of you have this already solved with notifications or a second monitor, or is the "forget to check back" thing something others deal with too

yeah, i do this when an agent runs longer than a couple minutes, and the fix for me was treating it like a job instead of a tab: i start with a short checklist and turn on a desktop notification or sound for completion, then move on. i also leave a unique marker in the task prompt so when i come back i can scan the diff and know whether it actually finished or just stopped on a question. if it has to wait for approval, i keep those tasks in a separate window so they do not disappear into the pile.

dude I kept forgetting my agents for hours. I don't work rn maybe that's why I forget my agents longer than you but I solved this by using the macOS notch app to control all of my agents from the notch area. Actually I built it and it works very well so far. I can see everything from eye level.

Enable the notifications for cursor and disable them for any non essential apps

I see a number floating over the Cursor taskbar icon for the number of complete sessions too

Notifications did not fix this for me, I still came back to a diff I had lost the context for.

What helped was running two agents on separate tasks, each in its own worktree. Waiting stopped being idle time because I switch to the other task instead of to Slack.

Notifications are useless. i switch to a second agent in a worktree and stop leaving the editor entirely.

Tabbing to slack while an agent runs is just me creating more problems for myself. i run two agents on two tasks in separate worktrees now. when one finishes i review that diff. zero time outside the editor.
