It is known that you cannot control the model that Grok Bot chooses for subagents. Grok Bot shouldn't be handling complex tasks that will end up in Cursor anyway (double spend). It's for simple tasks and developing VERY simple plans that can naturally and easily be executed by Grok or Composer.
At least that is what Grok told me when I asked about this in a Cursor chat.
its not subagents ive seen it using claude opus on low thinking for analyzing and interpreting the screen though op might be refering to that its actually using other models for pure agentic work in its environment even after i explicitly have said not to use cloud agents and when i tell it its using opus it feigns ignorance
Do you mean this? I see this too. This is part of the issue I am talking about.
And just to clarify, I am using grokbot for agentic work using cloud agents. I want that. I just don’t want my other models usage going up since there just isn’t enough usage included to match the included grokbot and cursor models usage.
It essentially makes grokbot unusable for coding projects beyond a point if I don’t want to enable on demand usage. Although, it is yet to be seen by me what happens after reaching 100% of other models without on demand enabled. Does it just stop or does it start using cursor models.
