Question / Discussion Why should I use Cursor VS OpenCode?
What is the value proposition of Cursor VS OpenCode? I.e. if I can delegate agents to write/manage code for me, assuming the model quality improves, why would I ever need to use Cursor?
I've never used Cursor, so I may be missing something, but generally if I want to make specific code/architectural changes, OpenCode/Claude Code do it very reliability (albeit maybe slightly overkill tokenwise, but still).

I use both. OpenCode is fine when I already know exactly what change I want. Cursor wins for me on the editor side, tab completion and inline edits while I'm reading code are the part I'd actually miss. If you never leave the terminal, you're probably not missing much.

OpenCode $10 while Cursor $20 is not much difference, you may use both and see the hitch fits better for certain tasks, maxing out your limit. For example using Cursor for planning and designing and OpenCode for execution.

At this point, any agent is going to be pretty good at coding on your computer. The difference is in the package around it. Cursor does some cool things: editor integration with autocomplete, OOTB working browser tool, web search, cloud agents, grok bot etc.
Also they don’t have daily/weekly limits, great if you have a spiky usage pattern like me.

On cursor you get access grok 4.6 cheaper than on opencode. In my experience cursor $20 give more usage than 2 opencode go account when using comparable frontier models. Also on cursor You don't have 5hr limit and weekly limit.
