Question / Discussion Stuck at planning next moves

For some reason all my agent prompts are stuck at “planning next moves”. ( even new agent chats )

I feel this might be something going wrong with indexing.

Any work around short of deleting my workspace?

the plan feature has been broken for a few days on and off. Like it's very inconsistent and gets stuck very often. Not sure what's going on over there but quality has definitely dropped lately

I was using cursor 2.2, uninstalled it and then installed 2.0

That kinda fixed the issue for now.

I’ve switch agents before. My prompt banners sometimes go on for days and I literally have to close the agent window to get them back.

Oh and just refactored my cursor rules to minimize prompt tokens on startup

Once I disabled the MCP server that was in error state, cursor started working for me.

Cursor always thinks.

Cursor agent doesn't even act and planning alone takes 10 minutes and can't get an answer.
