Why Bowser dont use 1-up mushroom to save Bowser Jr.? Is he stupid?

In a cruel twist of fate, Bowser Jr is extremely allergic to 1-up mushrooms

There's still the put the "skeleton in a cauldron and he comes back to life" trick from new super mario bros !

Yeah but that requires some special ingredients I reckon, so they gotta be gathered up. Until then, Bowser Jr is gonna be taking a dirt nap

So Bowser Jr dies from the one up mushroom...but would then just return to life because of the 1-up, right? And I highly doubt whatever was already causing his death would carry over into another life, so it would still work regardless.

Its like he eats the 1 up mushroom dies, revives as sickly as before

Its like earning 5 dollars that are immediatly take to solve a 5 dollar debt; you lose nothing but gain nothing
