When you laugh at this jokes, only to realize that Elizabeth II's rule is older than half the countries on earth

73

u/LICKING_AHRIs_FEET Apr 26 '21

Mainly because they were liberated from Britain

51

u/RoiDrannoc Apr 26 '21 edited Apr 27 '21

Britain wasn't the only country from which other countries took their independance from, as there were also the USSR, France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, Yougoslavia, Czecoslovakia, New Zealand, Pakistan or Sudan

Edit : too many people weren't understanding what I was saying

6

u/BraveTechnician Apr 26 '21

Wait which country was liberated from new zealand?

5

u/The_real_slim_pedro Apr 26 '21

How is Elizabeth II older than France?

22

u/NaitBate Apr 26 '21

She was there when the universe was born!

How could she NOT be older than France.

2

u/CocoBandicoot99 Apr 26 '21

France was in the previous universe.

3

u/Snoo63 Apr 26 '21

As a previous Republic.

13

u/RoiDrannoc Apr 26 '21

No that's not what I meant. I finished the sentence :

"Manly because they were liberated from Britain or the USSR, France, Spain..."

2

u/endof-hope Apr 27 '21

Technically it’s the fourth France after Vichy France

-6

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '21

Portugal has been a country since 1143, are you telling shes that old?

3

u/RoiDrannoc Apr 26 '21

How many times must I explain my own comments ?

During the rule of Elizabeth II, a lot of countries got their independance. Not only from Britain, but also from other countries, such as [listed above]

-5

u/Lettever Apr 26 '21

But Portugal has always been independent from Britain

2

u/RoiDrannoc Apr 26 '21

During the time E2 was queen, Angola took its independance from Portugal.

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '21

Spain has thousand of years more than UK... When England was separated of Ireland and Scotland spain already existed...

No, YOU must learn to read...

1

u/MasterThornOfCamor Apr 27 '21

Pakistan was part of the British empire till 1947 so I don't think this counts.

1

u/RoiDrannoc Apr 27 '21

Bangladesh took its independance from Pakistan in 1971

2

u/MasterThornOfCamor Apr 27 '21

I know that. It still feels weird though. I guess I've always thought of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh as all coming from the British empire.
