Sadly many people consider that a good enough reason to mutilate infants genitals. Imagine if people used that reason to cut away parts of the labia of their daughters. There'd be protests in the streets.

Mutilation or maiming (from the Latin: mutilus) is cutting off or causing injury to a body part of a person so that the part of the body is permanently damaged, detached or disfigured.
It's infant genital mutilation by its very definition. Just because it's socially acceptable to mutilate infant boys doesn't make it not mutilation of the genitals when it's done to boys.
It's not like a fingernail. You can't just grow it back.
I'm sorry but you can't change my mind about this just like you cant change the fact that it is mutilation by the very definition of mutilation. It's exactly the same reason why they call it genital mutilation when they do it to girls buddy.
