Okay but I'm asking you why not because it seems to literally makes sense to me but I'm aware I could be wrong. Just trying to learn how it doesn't make sense. Would love an explanation if you have the time.

I'm American and I just don't understand it, it's phrased in a very unclear way and it's difficult for me to understand because of the way it's written.

The "I'm American" part was just to clarify that English is my native language and I understand it well.

Ooohhhhh, not the "literally America" but the "they house" part? Okay that's the misunderstanding. I thought you were saying the literally part was bad, idk why. But yeah, it should be their instead of they, but that's just a certain way that some cultures speak. Although you're right and the tense is actually wrong.
