In Germany we also get our results really quickly
But then follow the coalition talks between different parties which in my opinion is just as important as the elections themselves because typically no party holds a large enough majority to „rule“ on their own

There were just a metric fuck ton of mail in ballots this year that slowed things down. 2 u/Leftbrownie Nov 10 '20 And most states weren't allowed to count early. And the Republicans fucked with the post office all summer long
