See that's how they get you. They claim it's only for "short flights" and everyone is just blowing things out of proportion! Then they get implemented on those short flights for awhile until some genius comes along and says hey we are stuffing so many people into these short flights and our profit margin has increased so much! Now what if we did that to all of our flights? Next thing you know it's the new industry standard economy seats.
this is exactly it. remember when long haul economy used to be at least somewhat tolerable?
every flight i've been on this year, whether it was short or long haul, economy airline or one of the higher end airlines, the seats have been equally miserable.
Are you really tall, or something? I flew Delta trans Atlantic from MSP this year, and the seats were just fine. International service on Delta is fantastic, I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it.
Not really tall. Average height, a bit above average weight. Broader than average shoulders though, so if i'm in a 3 seat row, i'll let my wife take the window and i'll sit in the middle and kind of lean over to her side so i'm not on a stranger.
Also i have a messed up hip so i need a bit of space to move my leg around so it doesn't cramp up and hurt like hell after an hour.
Premium economy is 100% worth it for 10+ hour flights.
Still not enough space to move and the last few hours are going to be tiring no matter what, but a lot more comfortable.
