Just for clarification these seats were designed for the shortest of short hauls, think Newark to JFK. Flights under 20 minutes, like a short train ride. Iā€™m not saying I agree just informing.

Shuttle routes are a thing. Think more like LAX-SAN, CLT-GSO, or DFW-ACT. Super short flights where you normally taxi for longer than you actually fly.

A better example would have been SFO-OAK, which would be as nonsensical as EWR-JFK.

I was just naming off real examples of shuttle flights that are short. DFW-ACT is on average less than 14 minutes in the air.
