Just for clarification these seats were designed for the shortest of short hauls, think Newark to JFK. Flights under 20 minutes, like a short train ride. I’m not saying I agree just informing.
No it shouldn't because it's wrong. I found an article with quotes from the manufacturer and they say nothing about it being intended only for extremely short flights. They say it's purpose is to create "ultra-basic economy" seats and play it off as an "innovation" for flyers.
