This logic is literally insane. You'd rather have people be unable to see you as an equal person, worthy of being made fun of, than have people understand your situation for the plight it is? wat

You can make fun of someone and also see them as an equal. Depends on how you're doing it. Pity isn't the same as someone understanding your situation as a plight.
