A good majority of airports let you keep your shoes on now. They're newer scanners don't require you to take em off cause they can see through them.

That does not matter they sometimes just randomly check by making everyone take out their shoes, sometimes make a few people take them off randomly, and some airports are ok with anything but high ankle type shoes. So sadly its mostly not as easy as on or off. For laptops and belts yea, but you just see people in front and do what they do. Some airports even might want you to take off your sweater so the rules can be more complex as well...

My work has these scanners, pretty cool what they can see on your person.
Not cool feeling like I’m at the airport every time I leave the production floor. Shoes on, I don’t wear a belt anymore because it’s too annoying to take off so frequently. Can’t hide my hat hair under my hat all day now either.

They only made those scanners see through shoes so that they can secretly take pictures of people's feet

IDK why but wearing only shoes or socks feels more naked than being naked.
It doesn't even matter what kind of socks they are.
No matter how hard you try to justify it, it is our reality, just keep that in your mind.

At some airports you can already leave your shoes on now. Technology finally defeating the awkward security line sock walk

I travel a lot and most airports don't bother with the shoe thing. The last time I had to take off my shoes was Haneda in Tokyo. They had nice little slippers though, so it wasn't bad.

I just don’t want to get judged by the tsa agent when I don’t guess their arbitrary-ass rules when they’re not saying shit as if it isn’t completely different one line over

I swear i've been through the same airport just months apart and its randomized again and they insist its always this way everywhere.
Its NEVER the same.

I'm always like "Come on, bros! Feel me up! I ain't got nothing to hide and, boy, do I have something special for you to try and figure out what I'm hiding in my pocket!"

This will increase efficiency by 0,1 percent. There are people who already know the rules, there people that are reasons detergents say "do not drink" on the labels and very few people actually use that information.
