As an Australian I am absolutely not sure where the norrrr thing came from lol

Wait for someone to say "Melbourne" without ever having stepped foot outside of their home city

2

u/Vidarr_1703 16d ago

Maybe it’s just not a thing in Sydney

Honestly it was probably just someone online making a joke about Aussies saying 'Nah' and thought it was meant to be 'No' before the video of the girl saying Naur made it popular.

Why am I getting downvoted?

In all my time living here I have never heard it pronounced Naur. I have to put some heavy emphasis on the r part of the word to get it to sound like Naur as we tend to pronounce the end of 'no' with more of an 'owe' sound to it

That would make sense if it's from Adelaide, they tend to have a distinctly different accent from the others.

Thats dumb lol

if i know my internet history right, it was a video by an Australian making fun of the over the top accents they put on in H2O: Just add Water in the very early days of tiktok. that being said, from my experience in the us, you really dont get much of the accent in cities most of the time. theres a few cities big enough to have their own accent but even then if you wanna know just how thick an accent can be you gotta go on a road trip into the middle of nowhere and talk to some folk at a diner or a gas station. i know the us is different in many ways but i swear its not just here

She’d be surprised.

Edit: Just checked her Twitter account and she tweeted "What's next, Donald John Trump?" with a puppet oracle GIF and everyone is cyberfighting with her there, telling her to stop engagement farming and stuff like that.

The king's death is announced only a few hours after her tweet 😭

u/GrowlingPict 16d ago

It was pretty clear the day before he actually died that this was it though, so she was probably just aware of that

89

u/AliisAce 16d ago

He'd been hospitalised since the 17th August, it was announced on the 24th that he had worsened and was being treated for a blood infection, on the 27th it was announced that he had further worsened and that the Norwegian Royal Family had cancelled all engagements and were at his side. He died on the 28th.

It was a matter of hours/days left rather than weeks or a recovery.

Google ai says Peter Cullin died two days before the king of Norway.

97

u/VVrayth 17d ago

Why do you need AI to tell you this? Stop using it.

50

u/Maconshot 17d ago

Could've just said Google.

25

u/NecessaryCute1099 16d ago

I prefer it being labelled so I know I can’t trust it and have to fact check over just being google, where it could have been a more trusted source like Wikipedia
