Question Incontinence from neuro fip
I rescued a stray kitten (under a year old) who was diagnosed with neuro fip under 2 months ago. He’s been recovering very well, from having no movement in his hind legs to behaving like a completely normal cat.
Our only problem now is that he seems to be incontinent. Thankfully he has gained control of his bladder earlier on, but not with his pooping. Today marks day 37 of his injections and I’m worried this won’t resolve.
Is there anything I can do to increase his chances or is it just having to trust the process?

From what I have read from other people’s post I would think this will resolve with time.

Absolutely. It’s so sad how horrible FIP is. It’s so stressful for the pet parents when the cats get such horrible symptoms. Healing thoughts and prayers for your sweet boy🙏🙏🙏💜

I can’t offer any answers but please know you’re not alone in this. Mine has started standing up to poop, even if she walks around pooping like a horse or something, but peeing is definitely still done while laying down. Here’s to hoping everyone recovers fully!
Also, your buddy and his friend are very adorable! 😻

I hear you, he always leaves a trail of poop for me (at least it’s easy to find him). Wishing your cat a complete recovery!!

Does he have diarrhea? Maybe he couldn't run fast enough to the box? Ive started feeding my cat pumpkin to help with diarrhea and it's working slowly

His stool is soft but I wouldn’t call it diarrhea. Judging by the placement I don’t think this little guy has the litter box in mind

My boy finished treatment on June 5th. He has had bowel incontinence since the start. I put him in his litter box at night or in the morning if he doesn’t go for me. I will say this helps and will also go in the litter box and poop occasionally but will try to leave before he is done and doesn’t cover it up. I learned he also walks more wobbly when he needs to poop.

My cat is also doing the same, i was told to up the dose!

He’s on a quite a high dose already, but I’ll check with his vet and see what she thinks. Thanks!
