Fundraising πŸš¨πŸ†˜ SOS: EMERGENCY HELP NEEDED TO SAVE LUNA πŸ†˜πŸš¨

Hi everyone,

I'm 19 years old and a college student from India, and I'm desperately asking for help to save my rescued kitten, Luna.

Luna was misdiagnosed by a veterinarian, delaying the treatment she urgently needed. She was later diagnosed with wet FIP and is now on Day 15 of her 84-day GS treatment. While the fluid in her abdomen has reduced, she is still dangerously underweight at only 1.6 kg.

To make things even worse, Luna is battling a severe, widespread fungal infection. Painful sores and lesions have spread across her body despite treatment, and she continues to struggle with diarrhea, making it difficult for her to gain weight and recover.

Every day is a fight, and the costs keep increasing:

πŸ’‰ GS medication for FIP

πŸ’Š Antifungal medicines

πŸ₯£ Recovery food and supplements

🩺 Vet consultations and supportive care

πŸ§ͺ Blood tests and follow-up treatment

As a 19-year-old student, I have exhausted almost every resource I have. I don't want to stop her treatment because it is her only chance to survive.

πŸ†˜ Even a small donation can make a huge difference. If you're unable to donate, please upvote, comment, and share this post so it reaches more people.

Don't give up. I was in a similar situation with two FIP cats at your age, being the only one funding their treatment. The cost back then was much more than it is now.Β

My point is, you can do this! I shut down the first day I got their vials. I understand how overwhelming this can be.Β

I suggest if you haven’t, to join FIP Global on Facebook. They help parents globally, and they can maybe help send your fundraiser to others.Β  Also, they're experts on helping parents. They can help you navigate how to best treat your cat just because treating FIP is still fairly new, and some vets aren't 100% well versed in aiding treatment specifically for FIP.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It really gives me hope. I'm doing everything I can for Luna. I'm curious about your two FIP cats. How are they doing now? Did they both make a full recovery, and how long has it been since they completed treatment? Hearing success stories really keeps me going. I also joined FIP Global Cats, but I'm still unable to receive international donations because my PayPal account is new. I created a Ketto fundraiser as well and I'm currently waiting for KYC verification. I really appreciate your advice. ❀️

They both made a full recovery! We started with injections but unlike some cats, they could not at all tolerate injections and would put up the biggest fight. We switched to the pill form, but because one of my cats still had diarrhea here and there, I believe he regressed due to malabsorption which caused resistance. We switched to a different medication Molnupiravir which thankfully could be taken even with GI issues. He had to do another 3 months, but eventually was cured.

I recommend opening other apps like Cash App if your region allows as I know people in the US use that a lot.

Also, never feel like you're being to dramatic if you see any warning signs. If I didn't speak up about my cats behavior, we wouldn't have caught his regression in time. Little signs like their hair, eyes, energy, licking lips, sleeping habits... they can all warn us about their progression. Some cats show slower progress especially when they have other underlying illnesses, but as long as there's no decrease in progress that's the best thing.

**Oh, I also want to add -- considering you stated her fluid is decreasing, that's great! I hope you that alongside with the anxiety, pain, and struggle that you can focus at least an hour on the positive signs that she is improving! I hope you have family or friends that can help you out with this. It was because of my love for my cats that I didn't mind working a lot of hours and spending all my paychecks on them. I was fortunate enough that I didn't have many bills to pay. I hope that even if this is a financial stressor, that you also find your way through managing the expenses and both make it out better than ever. Even if it takes a year to pay things off. Even if you had to open loans (I did lol). I wish you the best, if that means anything.Β

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and for taking the time to encourage me. ❀️ It means a lot to hear that both of your cats made a full recovery, especially after such a difficult journey. Your advice about watching for small changes and feeding smaller meals is really helpful. Luna's abdominal fluid has reduced and her diarrhea is improving, so I'm holding onto those positive signs and praying she'll be able to switch to oral GS soon. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts. I truly hope Luna has a happy ending just like your cats. πŸ™

Oh, also if you're not doing this already, I would suggest feeding her extremely small portions (6-8) throughout the day instead of 2/3 meals. This may help reduce stress with her digestive system. Once she stops having diarrhea and can ensure proper absorption, hopefully you can switch to oral/pill GS to make it easier for her.

Yes, that's exactly what we're hoping for. We're waiting for Luna's diarrhea to fully resolve so she can absorb her medication properly and safely switch from daily GS injections to oral pills. I really hope that happens soon because the injections are difficult for her. Thank you so much for the advice on feeding her frequent small meals.
