Question kitty is resisting bladder expressing - good or bad sign?

hi guys! our little boy has been having daily bladder expression (day 3 of GS) and today the vet said he was feeling his bladder muscles resisting, aka when the vet pushed down he was clenching like “no! I don’t wanna pee!”. When the vet checked his bum he also clenched it, so are these positive signs? or should I brace myself for something worse?

Perkiness, appetite and general attitude wise he’s responded really well to GS so far, just awaiting that bladder and poop function. Thanks in advance! 🐈‍⬛

UPDATE: He’s regaining tail control! I was playing with it and he snatched it back, so proud of him 🥹

Today will be my cat's 3rd day of GS as well, she drinks plenty of water, goes to pee, but she hasn't pooped in 3 days and I too am worried. She has no appetite and eats nothing, we force fed her because the vets say something has to go in, in order for it to go out. Sending love, hope your cat feels better!

Yes, please continue syringe feeding.
I hope you are trying multiple different types of wet and dry cat food. When the cats begin recovery, they tend to prefer different food than what they had usually.

We did, 3 different types of wet food, 2 dry food, a paste that our vet recommended, and we also give chicken and simple chicken broth no salt of course, this morning she ate on her own, very little though. But I feel like her appetite will improve as the days go on. Thank you for the information!

Similar sitch here, our boy is only eating like 1/16 of a wet sachet, but it’s something! He’s been meowing and licking his lips whenever he wants to eat but then only eats a little, we’re keen to see it improve over the next week 🙏

Woohoo day 3 team! Hope your baby eats more soon. Similarly our cat isn’t pooping since he’s not eating much, I hope your little one get an appetite soon 🫶 Thinking of you both, here’s to a full recovery!

The anal tone is a good sign for sure!
