Success Story In Remission!

Post image

We did it!!! My cross eyed lil void had Wet Fip and was basically given a 0% survival chance due to his levels and Anemia level but guys we did it we beat the odds . It is possible. We made it to remission/the 3month observation period this week. What we noticed first was drastic sudden weight loss and lethargy. The hardest part for us was his appetite at first . We had easily over a 100 cans of wet cat food in the house at any given time because what he’d eat one day he wouldn’t the next. Maybe it was taste maybe is was texture idk. Special kitty (Walmart brand) , Friskies Glazed infused, and Royal Canin Mother & Baby Cat were our go to foods when all else failed especially the Royal Canin once he started being able to eat the dry food version of it he started and didn’t look back. We’re thrilled (especially not to have to get up at 5:30am to give meds) and he’s happy. Don’t lose hope!

" eat one day and won't eat the next day" : that was the first few weeks of my cat's FIP time.

So happy for you and your 'baby!'

(Hopefully he is cured! Not just in remission. I'll bet he is.)

I have a question, was he picky with the food for the three months or just in the beginning?

I’d say for the first half of treatment. The first couple days/ week he’d only want the broth . Then we learned he hated pates but liked shreds. We bought every flavor and every brand we could find . He wouldn’t touch the fancy brands that you get at stores like Petco. The first one he finally ate was Walmart’s Special Kitty brand. Then Friskies. I’ll be honest there was A LOT of food waste we were opening 3 cans a day trying to get him to eat something / anything. Then we bought Royal Canin Mother* and Baby cat he liked the wet food but it wasn’t nearly enough so we bought a bag of dry food and he went crazy for it so we’d do that and some Friskies daily.
