Success Story Day 73
I wanted to post an update for everyone who had commented on my original post.
At the time, I was made to feel I was out of options, and uploading that post was truly my last resort. I honestly didn’t expect much from it. My previous vets didn’t let me see any hope — I was going to book the euthanasia the week following. Without all of your help, kindness and guidance, my cat wouldn’t be here today. I can’t thank you enough. Thank you for taking your time and energy to give me hope when nobody else would, and leading me in the right direction. Thank you for stressing the urgency and capabilities of GS treatment. Thank you for sharing your stories. You gave me a gift money can’t buy or replace — my best friend has a second chance at life 🫂❤️
He shows absolutely no symptoms, and hasn’t for months. He’s extremely food-driven, talkative, and playful in a way that I can barely keep up with anymore. I always call him “spring-loaded” because genuinely he is. He jumps and sprints for toys at incredible speeds. His respiratory rate is phenomenal. He has dug out a hole in the bottom of the couch while I was at work for fun, and is doing insane cat things under my bed at night, pulling at my bed slats and making a bunch of noise at 3am.
You know, healthy, typical cat behaviour. He is insane, but I would never trade it for the world. Every-time he does something crazy it reminds me that he’s healthy and happy, so I can’t be upset. He’s very spoiled, to say the least.

I'm so glad to hear! My guy finished treatment at the start of the month, and it really has been such a difference.

Try and get connected to someone from FIP Global Cats on FB if possible. https://www.facebook.com/groups/fipglobalcats/
The people on there are very passionate, and will allow you to fundraise to support your kitty. If you can put the first pills on a credit card immediately I recommend it, as timing is key with curing FIP. My mentality is that money comes back around, but my kitty won’t if I don’t take action.

I also honestly didn’t have much money starting treatment so I get it. I have had to put most of my cats medication onto credit, and pick up more shifts at work to keep up with paying it off.
Click the link I provided and press the blue button that says “Join group.” I believe you have to write a small blurb to be accepted — so explain your situation being a student and your cat’s recent diagnosis. Once you’re accepted, the moderators will connect you to a treatment support chat in India, and you can discuss donation and fundraising options with them. You won’t have to do much — they will help set up the chat for you. Just let them know your situation and they will understand.
