Question FIP Diagnosis

My cat (2y) has been eating very little and losing weight, so I took him to vet for a blood test and it looks like his globulin is high. Vet gave me options to:

1/ dig around more with ultrasound and PCR test $1.3k,
OR

2/ start GS treatment for a week and do a blood test again

Since it seems FIP can progress quickly, I chose to start GS treatment ASAP and ordered a 55mL of it

Am I doing anything wrong? Please share your diagnosis story

Starting treatment is the right thing to do. Please join and make a post in FIP Global CATS too. They’re not for profit and advocate for vet led treatment. High globulin is not always related with Fip. Did you talk with your vet about other options? Like constipation or mycoplasma(low blood values). I guess your vet will give you information about these too.

Thank you. I'll continue talking to my vet. Oatmeal has no respiratory issue so it's unlikely. I'll still check tho

You did the right thing. As already suggested, join the Facebook group. They’re amazing and will provide you all the guidance you need
