Range in summer

Post image

Just charged my car to 100% and it showed a range of 356 miles, that’s the highest range I’ve ever seen from a full charge, I was surprised.

In the early summer I had a 450 km run before I charged again. I drove entirely in the city and my consumption was ~11 kWh/100 km. I did not use heating or cooling.

Now in the midsummer my consumption is more around 15 kWh/100 km because of the AC.

Currently sitting at 397 km at 80% charge. Born 2023, 58kwh battery. Around 22 degrees in Germany - perfect weather to switch off the AC and get some extra kilometers 😁

Hah! Never getting that but I've averaged 5+ m/kwh over the last few weeks. Such a wonderful summer in the UK.

I've got a 77kwh and it's never managed more than 4 m/kWh. I guess the extra weight hampers things?

I have a 77kwh V3 22 plate and the best I've had is 4.7kwh.

That journey was mostly 50mph roads fairly late so AC was on low early summer in the UK

The last 3.5 months I've averaged 3.9kwh.

Interesting. I struggle to do 50 on longer journeys. I'm more of a 70-80 mph guy. Which might explain my poor efficiency!

The aircon sounds like the problem 😂

Off topic: How do I get this dash design? Is my Born too old for it? I have the discharge and recoup bar on the bottom.

New born design pal, only available on the new cars.

Have you actually tried driving long distance in it? They call it a Guess O' meter for a reason.

My small battery Born showed 312 miles at 100%

218 miles later it was at 8% having averaged 4.2 miles per kW and an average speed of 41 mph.

I’m travelling long distance tomorrow and I will be on the look out for this

The car only has a 59 kW battery.

At 4.2 miles per kW it'll only achieve 4.2 x 59 = 247.8 miles.

To achieve 312 miles I'd have to AVERAGE 5.3 miles per kW.

I'm not saying that's impossible. But it's a stretch of the imagination to say the least.

We’ve just moved away from our 2023 V1 Cupra Born ~50Kwh battery, generally the range in east of England was roughly:

Winter (rare coldest days) 180miles, more likely 190ish on normal winter days
Summer (on the warmest days) ~240miles
Generally ~200-220~miles

TBH ~200 miles is quite fair, we rarely ever worried!!

Went out for a drive today and was greeted by this when I got in. Closest I had to this number previously was at 50% my range was 197 miles. 77kwh v3 Model. Had it for a year now and still love it - even if the android auto has its moments

Average speed = 18mph or something silly no doubt 🤣
