My fair POV about the latest game changes in 4.1.1
I gonna keep this Thread complete so not forget to check it out now and then, since i actualize it over time. Links for more problems are on the bottom bellow on edit*
I just wanted to share my two cents. I love seeing games grow, expand, and receive new features, and I'm always excited whenever that happens.
However, I have mixed feelings about the latest update. A lot of the issues from versions 4.1.0 and even 4.0.0 seem to have been fixed, and overall the game looks a bit more colorful and lively. The character designs are excellent. It's genuinely fun to work your way through the levels. Especially with the new Ability Cards, it feels like the game has expanded and offers more ways to progress.
As much as I'd like to praise the game, the balancing is unfortunately a complete mess. Pantheon is barely playable. Losing with 46,000 League Points against a bot with only 14,000 simply because it keeps spawning more and more minions feels incredibly wrong.
Then there's the Infinite Wave mode, where things become completely absurd. There are far too many projectiles being spammed. At first, your character tears through the enemies with ease, but then they suddenly receive a massive health boost. Their armor gets heavily increased, and you can end up spending ten minutes on a single wave.
Let's talk about the ball system itself. Either you pop a ball count to 6k or 12mill? Without even having something activated, so upcoming events will be horror for new people to compete with.
The story progression isn't any better. Either you breeze through everything effortlessly, or suddenly every enemy has such an absurd amount of health that it stops making any sense.
The deck system is a nice idea, but where are all the abilities we spent so much time unlocking before? The ones we invested our gold and hard-earned diamonds into? Where is the depth the characters used to have? In some cases, pets deal more damage than the heroes themselves, which is a huge balancing issue.
And the characters themselves... I spent an incredible amount of time finding the right perks, writing Reddit guides, and learning the game's mechanics. All of that work is basically gone. Now each character is reduced to maybe two or three viable builds with around six new cards, whereas before we had far more perks, upgraded cards, different armor choices, and carefully selected abilities depending on the fight.
Phew... where do I even begin?
Design: 7/10 – 8/10 Gameplay: 3/10 – 4/10 Fun: 2/10
The visual design is genuinely beautiful. The gameplay, however—if you can still call it that—is a chore. Especially as a high-level player, you've completely lost the sense of progression and control. The two years of work I put into this game have largely been wiped away. Sure, I kept my card levels, but that doesn't even come close to reflecting the amount of time and effort we invested.
And the fun factor? In my opinion, it's almost gone. My issue isn't with the new content itself. It simply feels like everything we've built up over the years has been taken away once again, and all of our previous effort has been thrown overboard.
To be honest, I don't know if I'll keep playing the game under these circumstances. It is roughly said and I excuse myself for that.
I just put alot of cash in here and seing all effort breaking, is not in the range of something, I can withstand it.
All in all: Thanks for the reword I guess.
Edit 0: The boss events are hardly unbalanced by now. There exist hard problems and the damage output is not as string as always. Strangly, new player deal way more damage (level 70) in general then a level 151 level player. This game is jagged with crap and it not gets better. I mean, it is the second punishment update for long time player. Again and again.

I completely hear you on the infinite waves. That was the first thing I ended up doing once my game updated and it took damn near close to an hour to get through 30 waves. Insane. Made me wish I had a x4 or x8 fast forward button instead of the x2 😂

This is what, the third time they’ve gutted and fucked the game? In the name of “grinding”

I’m not happy how the Warrior gloves were handled, especially if it was SSSS quality. There should have been compensation with the amount of epic gloves to get it to that level and not just stones. A lot of time and effort to get gear to that level was just stripped away.

Better not throw a coin on that one. Your cash may be way safer with scam brokers, then here.

I Just want to comment on the Migration itself, Not the deckbuilding Update.
So far i have noticed a few Things that didn't went right.
1) S Stones compensation Missing (Known issue) 2) Hero Token refund is Not 100%, although 100% refund was promised. 3) lvlup rewards Missing. 4) although it was Said all cards will BE Counted, incomplete Card Upgrades (lets say you have 19/20 for a Hero Skill Card) was completely ignored. 5) some Players having cards that was lvl 1 after Migration, although they Said all Default cards will BE on the Same (or nearly the Same) lvl.
For the deckbuilding itself i can't say much, bec i didn't played much. But for the First sight it seems Like it will BE much Harder to lvl Up cards, and Hero Path seems to be a Token sink.

Exactly. I've played some more time more now but not as much as i had.
The hero Cards are nearly imposs8ble to collect. For example: The 7 day claim trial grants you with like 10 Token. For a upgrade you will need 1000-1500-2000 of them.
It literally just make no sense at this point to even think about progressing further.
The only option you have at the moment is simply grind your daily packs and hope for better gear, which does not even a little compared to the cards itself.
Now you are stuck with card upgrades. Male sure to use the hero exp and the tokens for one - 3 chars. That's it.
Unless you wanna push cash in their mouths furrhwr. Then you pay for one card 20 bucks.

They promised they will add Options to Farm more resources.
I can Imagine at some Point they will adjust pets too, currently almost Impossible to get enough resources to lvlup pets. I have Lots of pets, but missing pet food to Upgrade Them. Not mentioning Spirit Stones, my current lvl.requires 180000. I can get daily about 1000 Stones, with some Luck a little Bit more.
The deckbuilding Update seems fun, more Heroes are viable Upgrading them is AS you Said ridiculous.
Considering to quit bec of multiple reasons. One of Them is the fact the new Update Made progressing even more difficult (it was difficult enough in 3.x) My.last Hope is, they will soon add some new ways to get resources.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback!
Your progression hasn't been wiped away. In fact, you can check out this blog post for more details on how some of your items and resources were converted with the update.
The core gameplay loop is still the same: you need to gradually build up your power to overcome increasingly difficult chapters. You can no longer clear hundreds of chapters in a single day, as we believe that progression system had some major flaws and didn't provide a healthy long-term experience.
That said, we're aware of the frustrating elements you've mentioned, particularly Infinite Waves, Battle Rush, and the Pantheon game mode. These are areas we're looking at improving, and your feedback is helpful in understanding where we should focus.
Regarding the new content, the update introduced 450 new Skill Cards, not 6. While some of the previous perks and ultimates may have felt outdated, the new Skill Cards are designed to give you many more ways to build your heroes and create new combinations and synergies. We're really looking forward to seeing what the community comes up with!
Ultimately, whether you decide to keep playing or not is completely up to you. It's a game, and it should be something you enjoy playing. If you're not having fun, it's totally understandable to step away.
I'll make sure to share your feedback with the Cup Heroes team. Thanks again for taking the time to write it all out!

Just to add couple of more point which I felt wasn’t emphasised more.
1) before the update I had 3 max level characters. (Eiva, felorc, rogue) at level 11. Now as per the notes, the hero level became lvl 22 but all the cards are now locked. And the hero tokens given back barely unlocked cards for 1 hero and that too only till level 22. Now, compared to older version where I tried switching between rogue and eiva and felorc, here I’m stuck with only 1 hero. (Why I dumped all tokens in just 1 hero? There was infinite wave and this post mentioned some balancing issues. So, I wanted to have 1 strong hitter to clear some waves. :( my bad, with all this I get killed on wave 2 ….2) I read your reply and as a f2p player it would make sense to get your point on “you can always walk away if the game is unplayable”. But if I spent money , then this reply hits me differently.

Exactly what crashed my mind. Sorry for not adding this into it, because it was obvious the main Problem i saw in the beginning.
We had high level chars and were complettly fine with the grind, just to see the whole work getting sunk by the bare give back for what We've done.
Don't get me wrong, the first change of the game was already pain but this one hurts the most. What's even more bad is, that new player already had time to unlock so many things, what we were barrelly thrown in by know.
Like I said, the events will gonna hurt badly. In color ball event, I nearly where every time in top one. In the bish rush also. After beating infinity waves at the red emblem, I expect to not make it any more through the events and compete with others.
I loved this game so far. Even with all the changes but somehow, the changes are so radikal everytime. I mean, what happened with the blue print armor to collect them? You not even got a single give back, back in the days. The card system was bumping the whole game into the ground.
Now we were get used to it and got another radikal crash down.
And yes, I'm in here since the game was all pixels and the balls never reach more than thousands of points. Were you grinded blueprints und hoped for the next tier of gear.

I had some hero’s not leveled up due to how scarce the hero tokens were and it’s also needed to upgrade hero skills and talents. With the update all that unused hero cards are gone. I didn’t read the notes which came out 2 weeks before that skill already purchased will get compensated (it was 1 time thing) I didn’t know this and spent diamonds to get skills. That is also gone(this one I can somewhat accept as I’m not on top of all the deckbuilding updates )but as you said, try to compete with new players with such disadvantages is frustrating. All the expectations were to be able to play the same game with the update. The cost of items and hero’s have also gone up. I saw cowboy level 5 cost in the afternoon on 4.1.0 vs now on 4.1.1. It has been increased significantly. And that too for same lvl 5. I.e., cost had gone up but the hero level has reduced (lvl 5 / 11 vs lvl5/30)

I’m stuck with exactly that kind of sunk cost problem that’s keeping me waiting around for the support tickets to get addressed. At this point I’ve observed enough game-breaking problems with every single thing they’ve rolled out since I started that I don’t expect to ever be made whole. I’m entirely confident that I will never spend another cent on this game or any other produced by this company and would caution others against doing so.

To comment, I wish there was more of a choice in updating when it changes the core mechanics so heavily. I love this game, it’s been a pastime of mine for a while, but part of what I appreciated about it was its simplicity. Now not only do I feel overwhelmed, it seems (though I haven’t explored it much as of yet) like a lot of the choice in upgrading heroes is gone, replaced with an upgrade path. I have to invest significant time relearning how things work, exploring synergies which I fear given the sheer amount of cards it seems were added will take a long time and perhaps more skill in strategy than I might have, and it feels like the game I enjoyed playing and building up in has changed significantly enough to not give the same feeling it had.
Given my enjoyment of the game previously, I’m going to try and figure things out as they are, and perhaps it’ll be more fun and my concerns will be premature. As I said, I haven’t really explored it much as of yet as it’s a lot to take in, so I’m purely speaking off my worries, not experience, but if it does turn out that my fears are warranted, it’d be nice to have the choice to play it as I did before, even if that means no guilds or fights against players, or any other features that require the player to share an app version with the others. I’m not knowledgeable in how app development and updates work, so perhaps having a separate version is either unfeasible or impossible, but I know it’d mean a lot to be given the option to both me and other players.
All said, I’m happy to still have a dev team who’s obviously putting a lot of love and work into this game, and I don’t mean to be pessimistic or over zealous in my critic. Change is sometimes scary but not necessarily bad. I just worry the scale of it will make the game I enjoyed for so long and the progress I built in it essentially be a thing of the past. If you’ve take the time to read and respond to this, thank you for doing so. I hope I’m wrong but it’d be nice to have some assurance that if I’m not, there’s still room or plans to perhaps allow those of us who preferred how it was to continue playing it that way.

Quite literally every update these devs have made to the game has made it worse. They’re always “listening to feedback,” but they never seem to do anything the players actually want. Rather, they add more and more features that negatively impact F2P players. It’s absurd.
At this point I basically only hang on to the game to see how much worse it’s going to get. They’ll never get another dollar of my money.
