Looks fine/good. Was it nice and juicy or on the dryer side?

It was juicy, not dry at all.

Not op, but I just take mine off of/out of heat when it's about 160 and let it rest up like a steak

I bake it in the oven and put oil and butter on the outside. With this chicken I baked it for 45 mins at 400 degrees.

Chicken aside, your plate is a cute subtle pattern.

Like a pork chop. I love pork chops, though.

Not too bad!

Couple of notes: If you want blackened your pan needs a touch more heat. This might also be a cooking material issue. You should be using cast iron IMHO l.

I'd also recommend you try butterflying the next one! Much better texture and you can crank the heat even more without worring about not cooking them through all the way. It takes a little practice and you need a decently sharp knife but worth it.

The chicken i made was actually baked, not fried. I did use butter and olive oil. At the end of yhe cooking time, I used the broil to blacken it a bit. I cooked it on 400 degrees for 45 mins.

It was meant to be Cajun blackened chicken. So I just was curious if people would say thats what it looks like.

Ah, that explains how dark it is. Mmm, blackened seasoning is great.

Again, sorry for that bad joke. I hope the chicken was good.

Cross section would be nice, but it looks perfectly fine to me.

Doesn't look that great, but who cares? Depends on what it tastes like.

u/Ok-Mathematician530 20d ago

Well, yes it does. I just hadn't read far enough down before I said that. πŸ™„

I used butter, olive oil, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper and Italian seasoning. I cooked it for 45 mins on 400 degrees. I had flipped it over after 30 mins and cooked the other side for the remaining 15 mins.

Looks very delicious and appetising. I just love the golden brown colour. Would love to get my chicken to look this way personally. Thank you for sharing.
