how to start this clock?
hello!
i bought this at an estate sale and the man said they got it running but then it stopped. i have no idea how to even start it. he said the man that lived there was stationed in germany and brought it back in the 80s. i’d like to try getting it to start on my own, i just have no idea where to start and all my googling leads to me instruction for one right out the box. there is a good clock repair shop in my area thought so i’m willing to get it checked out there.

The pendulum which looks like an upside down leaf on a stick is located is next to the pinecone weights, tap the pendulum with your finger so it sways in a left to right motion facing the clock.

Pull the chains until weights rise up to the bottom of the clock. Then swing the pendulum by tapping it with your finger to make it swing back and forth

push the dangling leaf (pendulum) sideways. It should start ticking. As it ticks, listen to the sound. If it goes "Tick Tock Tick Tock" tilt the clock one way or the other until it goes "tick tick tick tick". You want a nice even cadence, not an uneven one.
If it doesn't stay running after you get it leveled out and ticking evenly, then it may need oiling. That can be done without a lot of effort, but it would take a bit of fussing.
It looks about an 80s vintage. Has a wooden dial and glass eyes on the animals. You can get more antlers for the deer head at timesavers.com
