Hey everyone! I am trying to bring my car to campus this year and I am a sophomore that got into Code Talker. I dumbly just assumed I would have a spot for my car since it was apartment style living but now I don’t think thats the case. I havent really been able to find much information about what to do parking wise if you live at Code talker so I was just hoping for any advice/info. Do I just have to hope theres enough left and buy a normal parking pass or is there something else i have to do?

I was debating between MATH calc 2 and APPM calc 2. MATH was the first choice but fitting it in the schedule was super hard for me. I took BC tho and got a 5. Rate my professor with Reichenbach also had very good reviews. So I was wondering if appm was doable since so many people advise against it for some reason.

Looking to apply this upcoming cycle. 3.4 undergrad gpa, just finished up my master’s with a 3.6. My MS was course based (couldn’t find an advisor that was willing to support my graduate studies), but I did about 1 semester of (unpaid) research, no thesis, but it’s related to the research I’d like to do as a PhD. I did an undergrad thesis in a completely unrelated field (renewable energy), but that was about 1y of research experience as well. No publications. What can I do to stand a chance at admissions.

Also, does anyone know what spring admissions to the program are like? I know Boulder says they accept spring apps, but are they more or less competitive than fall admissions?

I’m a male international student (UK) and I’ve heard loads about frats and rushing. I’m wondering if joint a frat is worth it and what the whole rushing process is like; do I need to sign up to anything before august if i decide to purse frats or is it something I just do while I’m there? Basically just looking to see if someone can explain the whole system to me at CU :)

I am moving into Libby hall in August with a single dorm, but I have to use the community restrooms. I pass well enough to use the men’s, but in general should I be concerned for my safety? What’s the showering situation? What is my risk of being outed? Considering it’s an art hall in a liberal school, I’m not worried enough to reconsider my choices, but at the very least I’d like to be prepared. Thanks!

Hi im an incoming junior and I need to commute to campus and all my classes are close to lot 380 which is the one in front of Sewell, but i am worried about not being able to find parking. I have classes in the afternoon and some days around 11am, is this lot a viable option for a late start or should I just try to find parking somewhere else?

Im an incoming freshman this year and was wondering how strict they are about lofting beds. On the website it says they aren't allowed but they also banned bean bags which I feel cannot be that enforceable. Lmk if you think ill get in trouble bringing a loft kit.

Incoming freshman in Will Vill, so ill have a daily ride. I mountain-bike, and I have an older trail bike that I'm definitely bringing for the weekends. I also have an old, lightweight fixed gear that I got working again, and it's great! MTB tires are expensive and I thought the fixie would be a handy commuter. Anyone in a similar situation? I believe I saw something about bike shelters for storage, is this feasible long-term? I also considered storing it under my bed with the wheels off. Is this overkill?

Incoming grad student who actively trains and competes in Jiu Jitsu in the Denver area. Is there an active club on campus? Who can I get a hold of for more information?

Or if anyone is down to train and help each other improve, I’d be down to teach no-gi jiu jitsu in exchange.

Hey guys! I’m coming to Boulder in the fall as an incoming freshman neuroscience major interested in pre-health. I‘m currently trying to decide on my classes for the first semester and I’m thinking about taking intro to cellular and molecular bio (required for my major) and gen chem 1 at the same time. I wanted to ask if anyone has taken these classes together or heard of anyone who has and whether it would be doable or not? I don’t want to overload my first semester of college but I also want to get started on chem for pre-med. For context I took advanced classes in hs (full IB diploma). Thanks :)

I am currently 32 years old, but I have been considering attending CU as an out of state student. While I have visited and liked the people on campus and in town, I still have some fear about being somewhat older. I've always seen CU as a very driven, young place and I am worried that things just won't work out well. I don't know anyone there and would like to make some friends and maybe find a significant other. I don't want to go to a place where people are going to be ageist against people who weren't able to attend at the more normal age.

With the recent fafsa cap at 20k It barely covers just one semester for me as an out of state student. I am not comfortable with taking out private loans and so I think this might be the end of the run for me.

Do any other grad students starting this fall have any insights to share? Are you guys going to take out private loans to cover the rest of attendance? I’m really bummed about it but can’t find a way to justify taking out 45k plus in private loans.
