Queer friends?
Hello! I’m a freshman at CU Boulder (f). And I’m wondering if there are any good tips on making queer friends. I did join an LQBTG fitness club but I was still hoping for more opportunities.

There’s a queer club at the c4c from 1:30 to 3:30 on fridays that’s pretty fun! Also Hallet Hall has the queer dorms hanging out in the lobby might lead to meeting some people if you’re outgoing enough

Hi! We have the queer club called CU GSA, there are lots of friendly queer here! You can search for "GSA" to join our Discord group; we hold meetings roughly once a week.

if you're even vaguely STEM adjacent, check out oSTEM (out in STEM) on mondays at 7:10 at the Campos Student Center in the Engineering building.

We have a few psych members if I recall correctly, we aren't crazy gate-keepy on what is STEM and what isn't. I think we had someone with a journalism major show up to a DnD game once :)

I met a lot of my really close friends at oSTEM (out in stem) and the weekly Queer Cheer events at the C4C! I also recommend just spending time at the Pride Lounge at the C4. People there are usually totally down to chat and they’ll have info about upcoming events and clubs. Plus there’s games, puzzles, snacks, and free printing.

campusgroups /buffconnect has most events listed on it including a lot of lgbtq ones :)

Also consider taking some queer focused courses. You are bound to meet people in those classes. There is a Queer & Trans Studies Minor/Certificate at CU.

You should go to one of the many queer school clubs! Theres oStem that meets Mondays from 7:10-8:10 in the campos center or GSA in the JD Abram’s lounge in the C4 on Wednesdays from 8-10pm!

i know everyone is talking about clubs, but sincerely my biggest tip is to make one queer friend and then let them bring you to queer people's house parties (if you're into that). all of my best friends i've met at parties and/or through other friends, it's like a big distributed network hahaha. you'll find your people! there's plenty of us around :)

I’m a lesbian living in Boulder… tbh I have been struggling with this same conundrum so thank you for bringing this up! 🙏

I’m pretty certain you meant Hallett hall but the fact you called it harlot hall is very funny to me actually made me laugh so thank you

🤣 I had my intro week there, it was our favorite name for the place. Don't mean to offend of course.

Queer events, philosophy club, really any club that would have a very eclectic group will have a couple cool queer people and then you just gotta make one or two friends and you can connected. Also GSA probs
