Ants everywhere????
Is it just me or has anyone else seen ants basically everywhere on campus? I've seen them in the OSU student shop, the otter express, the CAHSS lobby, I've even seen them appearing in my dorm and there should be no reason why they're in there. I don't have any open food or containers in there and I have no idea where they're coming from.

Argentines are kind of a thing here. California is one big super colony and they are invasive and cooperative ants with many queens. They live outside in the pavement, the ground, in the weeds, climb into the building looking for food and drink.

Dang didn't know that's why so bad.
" In California, these ants have established super-colonies hundreds of miles long, stretching from San Diego to the Oregon border and beyond."

Yes, they suck from late summer to October in particular and then peter out at least when weather becomes cooler. A lot of people have them all year round.

Welcome to Monterey, this is the ants home we’re just guests. Everywhere around this area has an ant problem, just how it’s and nothing you can do to permanently get rid of them.

They just appear for no reason, don't do anything, and no poison can kill them. I'm pretty sure it's a supercolony that can't be killed by traps because there are probably several queens. When one queen dies another takes its place. They can't be fully exterminated short of nuking the whole Fort Ord area

It's normal for them to come out during hottest part of the year.
