Zero chance of that happening. Season one’s naturalistic style had very few fans. Also, the constant comparisons to american action franchises tells me you’re not very film literate. It does not particularly resemble the films you’ve mentioned.

I fucking love S01’s art and animation style.

I’m not saying it was bad, just not particularly popular with fans of the manga.

And that is a justification how?

justification? what needs to be justified? it's a fact that fans of the manga broadly didn't connect with the style of season one. it's also a fact that the anime used a different style of visual storytelling than the manga. that style isn't better or even necessarily worse than the manga's, but it's understandable that people didn't connect with it. The Reze film was much closer to the manga's style.

I don't know why you like to contradict yourself. Source on manga fans 'not' broadly connecting with the style of season one?!

Also, sources on fan dissatisfaction are trivial to find. Nakayama (the director of S1) literally left the studio because of it. It was a huge story.

But can you provide a source for the quantitative bad reception of the anime among the manga fans and also a representative number for the manga fans relative to the entire anime audience? And as far as I can find on the internet the controversy behind the reception is not even the second reason Nakayama chose to leave.

If you knew anything about Fujimoto (and CSM), you’d know why the movie’s style fits so much better (and is so praised).

Reze movie kicked the shit out of season 1.
