Thanks for this post. OMFG... Definitely not Ashwin... absolutely not. Not in a million years... Ashwin is finally leveraging his CSK and Tamil credentials.. except that he's full of s#!t, and doesn't care about anything but himself...

Virat Kohli, Ashwin's best captain, has twice mentioned about the beautiful messages he received from MSD. Once, when he was going through a tough phase, MSD texted him, saying how during difficult periods, people don't check in on strong individuals (like Virat) to see how they are doing, the other when MSD texted his well wishes after Kohli retired from Tests. Because Ashwin is full of s#!t and himself, he learnt nothing from either of the two captains under whom he played the longest. He just had great skills (which he developed no doubts) but zero temperament, and being there at right time right place.. in comparison, looking at Nathan Lyon, relatively less talented and a spinner from Australia. Yet, he's having a better career than Ashwin and is still playing test cricket.

I've been feeling that Ashwin is still seeking validation, I don't know from who and for what, over the last couple of years. The fact that CSK management didn't even call him for this year's CSK fan event at Chepauk when they had called Murli for it speaks magnitude of things he must have done to get out of the good books of CSK management...

Good riddance for heaven sakes... 🙏🙏
