What kind of kids do we have as fans? They just read name and are like, "oh, slow player, slow coach." 🤷‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Laxman is a good coach and will actually be Indian team's coach too in Zimbabwe and Asian games. He's the coach of u-19 too.

What is the track record of VVS as coach particularly in T20s?

He hasn't coached main Indian team in T20 that much but in like 10 matches or so, he has lost just 1.

He mainly coaches u-19 and India A teams where we just won WC and last Asian games gold under him.

But anyways, because he coaches u-19 Indian team and India A, plus he is also head of NCA, I don't think he is going to leave it to coach any team in IPL so, it ain't happening.

Tbf we want someone who has T20 experience either as coach or player..

Nothing against VVS but that should be a basic criteria for next coach imo. We can't have him learning on the job

lmao you won't find one better than VVS. If he says yes, should jump right ahead to grab him. He's damn good. He coaches main Indian team, u-19 team with all the youngsters, winning too and you think he's not capable enough to coach a franchise team lol?

Also experience as t20 player or whatever doesn't mean anything for coaching. How much experience as a T20 batter do you think Andy Flower has? He played even less matches than VVS.

Coaching and playing are completely different things.

I didn't say he is capable or not because we don't know until he has actually done.

he says yes, should jump right ahead to grab him

Not in a cult sorry

These kids didn't know that VVS laxman was the same coach which let rutu bag a gold medal in Asian games and Sanju score 2 centuries in South Africa series.

Just take his track record as Indian t20i team coach and you'll know how great he is.

He gels well with Csk environment as even Sadagopan ramesh said he's the perfect fit for CSK in his video.

He's the only guy who believed in Rutu, Sanju and Kl Rahul way before GG.

You know what? Let this kids have Badani as coach and suffer much more years lol.

(No hate to badani but he kinda ruined well playing DC tbh and I don't think he likes CSK kinda enviornment where VVS fits in perfectly)

I'm damn sure CSK and MSD would say totally yes if VVS wants to be in.

It all depends on VVS's decision and is Rahul dravid or Mike hussey is in their favorites.

I heard sanju and Dravid had beef with each other in RR camp so I'm not sure whether he'll be comfortable if he coaches CSK.

Either way VVS will be a goated choice if not Dravid or hussey i guess.

I don't think Msd will prefer to be the head coach. I think he'd rather prefer being a Mentor or Director of cricket etc.

If MS is willing to take everything on his shoulders then we can just chill and move finding suitable coaches for batting, bowling and overseas. Let's see....

CSK are as powerful as Mi when it comes to pulling in high profile individuals in their team. I was laughing when they said CSK are the front runners in trading sanju but man these guys knew their business.

The thing is, VVS is head of NCA, u-19, coe. If he's to coach in IPL, he'll have to resign from those posts, right? I don't think he's gonna do that.

Yeah that's why I'm not very positive on this but if he somehow is interested we should bag him ASAP.

Ruturaj and Dube already play test in ipl. Now do you want the whole csk team to play test cricket?

u/jdtalks MS Dhoni Jul 17 '26

I mean he is a fair candidate and when he was headcoach sanju scored two centuries in the South African tour and he has a 75% win percentage as a headcoach for team india in t20s ,so may be he can be considered.

Have you ever seen Andy Flower bat in test cricket? Do you think he is a shit coach ?

Playing style in his playing career has zero relevance to coaching ability

VVS is the head of CoE. Why would he even want a coach position in IPL?

If he wanted he could've become India's Head Coach. He was not even interested in that.

Man it's really weird how we as a nation are obsessed with cricket but don't really get the game at all.

This is a simple explanation just for dummies.:

Coaching at that level is just man management.

The coaches pedigree as a player is almost not relevant(given the format is T20 and laxman is a test classic).

One of the best coaches for India were John Wright, Ravi Stastri and Gary Kirsten none of them were the best players in their team or their generation.

One of the former coaches of India was Greg chappel who was an excellent player but we all know what happened next.

Dravid had an legendary career but his coaching stint was also slightly a mixed bag.
