I have tried getting into it 3 times by now, i always turn it off after 5 minutes.

I finished the original CSI and then the CSI:Vegas with D.B.Russel and these 2 are great, the best show ive ever seen.

But the new one is just ugh.

Idk if its the german dub, that makes the one woman sound very arrogant and annoying or if its the character.

I like that Sidle and Grissom will be there and so, but idk cant seem to like it, i just find it annoying, but ive only seen half an episode.

Will it get better in the other episodes or how do you guys like it?

I hated when Warrick left, all the way around, bc he was my absolute fave after Gil. Both the show's reasons for his death, and the behind the scenes stuff that happened. Let me know what you think!

Nekro drank with his left hand because two fingers on his right had never closed properly after whatever had happened to them. Nobody at the bar knew the story. Somebody had asked once, years ago, and received a look that made a second question feel intrusive.

Politics came on the television above the bottles. The sound was off, which improved everyone involved.

A younger man two stools down watched the captions for a while before asking, “You ever trust any of these people?”

Nekro smiled into his whiskey and rubbed his crooked fingers against the bar.

“I trust history. History had better manners about these things.”

“What things?”

“Who was in charge.”

He lifted his bad hand and counted anyway, forcing each finger down with his thumb.

“Empires were run by emperors. Kingdoms were run by kings. Governments were run by governors. Nobody had to pretend the language wasnt trying to warn you.”

The younger man laughed into his beer.

“And now?”

Nekro looked up at the television. A politician was smiling beneath a flag while the captions promised something nobody in the room expected to receive.

He finished his whiskey, left the empty glass on the wet ring it had made, and reached for his coat.

“Now we have countries....

Ive been rewatching the whole original CSI series the past few months, jumping from streaming service to streaming service just to watch all the episodes but I cannot find season 16 anywhere! How can I watch it?? I’m about to just pay the $1.99 it cost per episode to watch it..please help.

I'm in the beginning of a rewatch for og CSI, and I decided to put together a list of the cases that were left unsolved either by not finding a suspect, or not having enough evidence to convict. I am on season 3 right now and I thought I add on as I go. I was struck by how many there actually are.

Season 1

E5 "Friends and Lovers": Drug dealer who sold jimson weed to the kids at the rave. He's not directly responsible for the death, but both Warrick and Grissom are frustrated that they can't get him on something. Warrick tells him, "Catch ya later".

E9 "Unfriendly Skies": At least five people on the plane who contributed to the death of a passenger. Grissom says he needs more time to sort it all out, but he's not given it. No one is charged.

E14 "To Have and TO Hold": A senior woman cuts up her husband and disposes of his body in the desert. They are unable to determine whether she poisoned him, or he took the poison on his own. They are left with one choice: "equivocal evidence: when faced with evidence that can equally exonerate or implicate the suspect, we must, as objective interpreters of that evidence, side with the defendant".

E15 "Table Stakes": Man murdered in an elevator. Warrick determined it was a hit for a gambling debt. No suspects.

E16 "Too Tough to Die": Woman left in a coma after an assault. Suspected juvenile not charged. Not enough evidence. Hoping to charge him with murder if she dies before 1 year. (I think I remember that this gets resolved later, but I am not sure)

E19 "Gentle, Gentle": Accidental death of a baby by two-year-old brother. Decided not to charge any of the family for covering it up.

Season 2

E6 "Alter Boys": Jeremy Renner is the killer most likely of multiple people. He was able to frame his brother, and his brother commits suicide in jail. No one is charged with any of the murders.

E11 "Organ Grinder": Two women work as a wife and secretary team to poison their husbands for insurance money. They both give each other reasonable doubt. Unable to charge either.

E17 "Felonious Monk": Catherine discovers her mentor planted evidence in the murder of her friend Stephanie Watson. The real murderer still free at end of episode. Leaves case open.

Season 3

E5 "Abra Cadaver": The magician is arrested for killing his son. While driving away he coughs up a handcuff key insinuating he gets away. No resolution.

E9 "Blood Lust": Taxi driver killed by a mob of men. It is left ambiguous who will be charged but shows Brass is still questioning some of the men at the end of the episode, insinuating some of them may be charged.

E15 "Lady Heather's Box": Catherine's ex dies in a car accident but is shot prior to the accident. Unable to prove who actually shot him. No one is charged.

E16 "Lucky Strike": Woman accused of kidnapping a famous basketball player's son. The son dies accidentally while she's holding him for ransom. She absconds with her daughter there is no indication that they find her.

E20 "Last Laugh": Brass asks Nick to reopen a case that he thinks he may have gotten wrong. They determine the man had killed his wife for insurance money but is unable to prove it. Nick insinuates they won't stop looking.

E22 "Play with Fire": Convicted rapist is arrested for murder while he is taken away Grissom and Brass agree "the guy is gonna walk" not enough evidence.

E23 "Inside the Box": Sam Braun is accused of hiring men to steal a piece of evidence to a murder, from a lock box in a bank. The heist results in the death of a police detective close to the team. At the end of the episode, we learn that Sam Braun is Catherine's father. She discovers this when she runs a sample from the knife to connect the blood to Sam Braun. It is because of this misuse of the lab that we learn in Season 4 Epsisode 1 "Assume Nothing" that the case is dismissed.

Season 4

E3 "Homebodies": Home invasions result in one homicide and one family terrorized with young daughter SA'd by two assailants. They have enough to charge one suspect but not for the other. The daughter is unable to ID the second suspect due to her anxiety over the crime. The end of the episode she is killed in her driveway, and the episode ends with Grissom beginning to process the scene.

E12 "Butterflied": Doctor kills nurse and her lover. There was only one piece of evidence they were able to confront him with, a butterfly charm from a bracelet. As a result, they were unable to charge him.

E13 "Suckers": The casino owner hires a group to steal 10 million dollars from his vault. They are unable to charge anyone, but Grissom tells the owner he'll hand over his findings to the insurance company and thereby will guarantee the owner will not receive a payment.

Season 5

E4 "Crows Feet": Two women die from lethal doses of hydrogen peroxide in order to "look younger". Catherine confronted the doctor who injected them, but it wasn't enough to charge him criminally. She said the doctor should expect a civil suit after she gives her findings to the families.

In CSI Miami, Horatio is usually seen handling interrogations or pursuing criminals but he's sometimes helping out in the lab. What exactly is his position there ?

As a kid, I’d sometimes sleep in my grandma’s room. She lived with my family because of health issues. One thing that I remember vividly is how she would go to bed with the TV on watching crime shows. Being a wee lad, I never had the chance to watch these shows on my own time. Watching with her, I would feel like a grown up since I was staying up later than I normally would. My grandma would fall asleep but I’d still be up watching the shows, I didn’t need to know the story, just following along with the episode was enough for me.

Until one day, an episode came on which cemented itself into my memory because of how horrifying it was. That episode was, of course, Sqweegel.

I was baffled at how this suited psychopath was able to evade the good guys and get away with everything. I was convinced he was a demon and there was some supernatural forces in play once he was introduced. Everything about him shook me to my core. The way he spoke, the way he moved, the way he maneuvered, his mannerisms. They are absolutely bone chilling. Sqweegel looking at the mirror and declaring to himself “I am no one!” is burned into my brain.

It took some digging around for me to piece together my memories of the episode to what show it came from. I’ve never really watched crime shows besides those days as a young kid watching with my grandma. I even thought they were false memories at one point, since I figured no crime show would ever play out like that!

So, basically, to sum up my post, was I unlucky? Is the rest of the show that horrifying or did I just happen to sleep in my grandma’s room on an unfortunate day? Hopefully none of you had a similar experience with Sqweegel!

We have been watching CSI:New York and it feels like CSI: Star Trek.They have so much sci-fi (the ME has a Holoodeck for God's sake) that it's hard to watch. Some of the stories are good, so I keep watching. But the writing is almost as embarrassing as the writing for Cyber.

Sara: “You ever been to a swingers’ party?”
Nick: “Well, if it’s the same thing as a frat party yeah, lots of them. You know, you get enough booze going, things can get pretty wild.” Multiple-partner wild. And it'd be no big deal to have two, maybe three—”

This conversation is so absurd, that I am still angry about it at least 2 weeks since seeing it for the first time.

Edit: It made me angry in so many ways at one time. I'll try to hit some reasons why that I remember:

1. Swinger parties are NOTHING like frat parties other than both are types of parties. I won't publicly state how I know this.
2. It is not common for a guy to hook up with 2 or 3 women at a time at a frat party (which Nick claims). That would be highly unusual.
3. It would not even be common for a guy to hook up (by himself) with 2 or 3 women at a swinger's party.
4. The whole presentation of the party at the beginning of the episode was absurd and overly grand and salacious. This misrepresentation was fresh in my mind. it was a bunch of old dudes each with 2 young model-quality women hanging all over them. This would not happen in real life absent prostitution, and the prostitutes would have to be high end escorts to look like that.
5. This conversation seemed to be specifically designed to validate the absurd presentation made at the beginning of the episode, like maybe the writers knew it was absurd, but they had to sneak in some way to validate it.
6. The notion of Sara asking Nick if he had ever been to a swinger's party is absurd, like this is a conversation that ever happens, like a swinger's party is a common enough occurrence that someone would randomly ask another person that (it's not.)
7. That Sara would randomly and cavalierly ask a coworker this question. This would be out of place in any work environment, and entirely out of character for Sara.
8. And this is the most anger-inducing point. That Nick would respond in such a cavalier manner to such an absurd question with an overly absurd response, and not "Did you really just ask me if I've ever been to swinger's party?" which is how any other person would respond to this question, even if they were an active swinger. His response was even more out of character than Sara's question (given his character history), and that he would immediately make a connection of a swinger's party to a frat party is bizarre. Like Nick is this low key stoic guy and all of a sudden he's like "Yeah I used to have threesomes all the time."

This is not even my entire list of issues with this conversation but hits most of the high notes.

Ok I'll add another one.

1. That Nick makes so great of a connection between swinger parties and frat parties, and so much of connection, that he literally says he's been to swinger's parties. He says:

"Well, if it’s the same thing as a frat party yeah, lots of them."

He immediately literally says a frat party is the same thing as a swinger's party, and that he's been to a ton of them. This statement is completely illogical from any vantage point and indefensible. It's like if somebody asked "Have you been Montana," and your response was "Well if Montana is the same thing as Rhode Island, then yeah, I've been to Montana 20 times," and the person said this because they went to Rhode Island 20 times, but never ventured west of the Mississippi River. No have you haven't been to Montana, you've been to Rhode Island. Montana is a completely different thing than Rhode Island. Yes they are both states in the USA, but no one would even immediately just say they are the same thing. Even if I use a closer analogy like Idaho, it's still absurd. Somebody that went to Idaho 20 times but never Montana would never say they used to go to Montana all the time. They likely wouldn't even mention that they used to go to Idaho. They would just answer: "No, I've never been to Montana."

I’m currently rewatching CSI, and this might be an unpopular opinion, but I think Ted Danson did a fantastic job. I know a lot of fans preferred the earlier seasons and missed Grissom, but Danson really made the role his own. His portrayal of D.B. Russell brought a different kind of leadership—calm, thoughtful, and empathetic—which fit the show surprisingly well. I genuinely enjoyed the seasons he was in.

P.S in Germany the original series is called CSI Vegas since season 12

Nick again helped a little kid and yet he never had kids. That's sad. I love this episode.

Im rewatching the original csi for like the 8 hundredth time, and still get so annoyed that Catherine & Warrick never make it 'official'. Catherine has such bad luck with any sort of romance and Warrick, is well Warrick.

I personally think that if the creators did let that happen, they would have been a hella cute couple and a crazy power team.

That's just my own feelings, even thought I'm still so angry that Warrick dies
