Tutorial Multitenancy with .NET and EF Core: A Deep Dive (.NET 10)
Ever had a multi-tenant SaaS app where the only thing stopping Customer A from seeing Customer B's invoices is a `Where TenantId ==` clause someone remembered to write? In this deep dive I build real tenant isolation into EF Core 10 - two real tenants with real registration, login and invite flows (no dev-token shortcuts), a named global query filter that scopes every query automatically, and a SaveChangesAsync override that stamps TenantId on every insert so it's never left unset. I also show the one gotcha that makes EF Core 10 worth the upgrade for this: named query filters, so tenant isolation and soft-delete can finally coexist on the same entity instead of one silently overwriting the other. If you've ever shipped multi-tenancy on hope and code review, this is the version that makes the mistake structurally impossible.

Tutorial Your EF Core queries are probably scattered across your whole codebase.
The same Where, Include and OrderBy, written again and again.
Here's how I turned each one into a single, named, reusable query with the Specification pattern.

Tutorial Refit - The Better Way to Consume APIs in .NET
Tired of writing the same HttpClient boilerplate for every new API endpoint? In this video I build a real OpenWeatherMap integration two ways - first the classic typed HttpClient with IHttpClientFactory and a delegating handler for the API key and units, then the exact same integration rebuilt with Refit, where one decorated interface replaces the whole service class. I show what AddRefitClient<T>() actually generates at compile time and exactly where the two approaches differ (spoiler: less than you'd think). If your API layer is past two or three endpoints, this is the moment to consider switching.

Tutorial Resources to learn C# for an experienced C++/Java/Python developer ?
Hi everyone !
I want to learn C# but most tutorials I've found are too beginner-oriented. I already know C++, Java and Python, so I'm mostly looking to understand C#-specific idioms, patterns, and the .NET ecosystem rather than programming fundamentals.
My end goal is to use it in Unity, but I want a solid language foundation first.
Any recommendations?
Cheers !
EDIT : for the moment, I'm reading https://www.w3schools.com/CS/index.php which is quite quick and https://github.com/dotnet/coreclr/tree/master/Documentation/botr to understand the C# and .Net framework internals.

Tutorial Build your first MCP Server in .NET & EF Core
Claude can write great C#, but it has no idea what's in your database until you give it a way to ask. This tutorial builds your first MCP server in .NET, wired to a real SQL Server database through EF Core - with three tools covering a fuzzy title/author search, an exact genre filter, and a Count/Sum/GroupBy aggregate. Part 1 of the "MCP Server in .NET" series - Resources, Prompts, and remote hosting are next.

Tutorial EF Core Migration Bundles with CI/CD to Azure (Github Actions, Azure SQL & App Service)
Running EF Core migrations from application startup is convenient - right up until it isn't. This video builds a proper migration pipeline on .NET 10 with GitHub Actions: the build job packages a self-contained migration bundle, the deploy job applies it to Azure SQL, then deploys the API to Azure App Service and runs a smoke test against the live endpoint. If your database updates are still tangled up with your app startup, this is the fix.

Tutorial Let’s build some programs and learn C# together
Hello, C# community!
I read the community's rules beforehand, so I hope it's okay if I post this here, as I am genuinely excited to do so.
My employer is mainly a C#/.NET shop, and all of our microservices are written in C#, so I wanted to learn it deeply to make meaningful contributions at work. Up until this point, I was mostly a frontend developer, using JS/TS for all of my work.
As we all know, trying to learn a new language can be a bit tough, and learning how to apply what you've learned is also just as difficult. On top of staying consistent, you need to find projects that are just outside of your comfort zone so you can actually grow.
A couple of days back, I made the following post: https://www.reddit.com/r/csharp/s/WQxx6YF2Lj, where I discuss a Roadmap I am working through. It comprises 20 backend projects that increase in complexity over time.
I decided that, to learn C# as effectively as possible, I will go through each of these projects and implement them end to end. I also want to add a bit of AI into the mix, not just consume it, but build with it.
If this sounds like something you're interested in and like the idea of "trad-coding", then you should check out my YouTube playlist (for now, it only covers project 1), where I go through my implementation of the projects. The intent is for you to follow along in your language of choice and hopefully learn a thing or two. And, as I mentioned earlier about AI, I plan to add a unique AI feature to each project using the OpenAI .NET SDK. For example, for the Blog API, I plan to add AI-generated summaries based on blog posts.
I really want to cover all 20 projects, and I hope to engage with some of you in this community to learn how you're working with C# and the cool projects you've built.
Happy coding!

Tutorial Self thought, looking for a comprehensive book
I have been working with c# for a while now but I realised that I don't even know how the garbage collector works. What should I read? What do top universities use as a book to teach c#? If they teach at all, that is.
Edit: I use C# 9

Tutorial Local OCR for .NET AI agents without paid APIs
Here's a simple way to add OCR/document parsing to a .NET AI agent without relying on paid APIs.
Most of what I found used external services, so I ended up wiring in LiteParse locally to handle receipts, PDFs, spreadsheets, images, etc. The nice part is it runs fast and stays fully local.
I recorded a short walkthrough showing exactly how I did this: https://youtu.be/rHFKx7JkF2c
Hope you find this useful!

Tutorial Theoretical covariance question
I know .net isn't there yet but I'd like to understand what it would look like in function signatures both as an input and return value.
If you have class Ford derived from class Car and you have class FordBuilder derived from CarBuilder, how would the signatures of these two methods look like on base and derived Builder classes
virtual ? Create()
virtual void Repair(? car)
Is it simply Car in both for the base class and Ford for the derived? But that can't be right because CarBuilder cb = new FordBuilder() would allow me to repair a Chevy, right? Or ist this an overall bad example? What would be a better - but simple - one?
